Different styling classes for textboxes on same template page

Recommended Posts

Hi I am using several textboxes on the same template page:

1) for special languages selector nav (three small images)

2) page logo image

3) for normal use

when I assign custom classing styles (margins and padding) all textboxes are affected.

How can I assign different classes to the particular textboxes?

By the way it should be global for all template pages, since the language selector and logo comes in all.

Thanks in advance,

Nedim

Hello Nedim

Could we have a link to your site please?

Also can you provide the custom code you are using? Please could you add the code to paste.pagelines.com and share the link.

I did that. Thanks. Actually, it's just a mock-up site and will be transferred to its place when finished. So no big worries. If you think of it, I'm just trying to place html code here and there on the template and have to use the textbox because I don't other wise. And the textbox has its own css.. That's another way to look at my problem. Best, Nedim

Hi,

I have just this moment added several TextBox sections to a template and added a boom class (custom) to one TextBox. When I refreshed, only the textbox I added the class to was effected.

Can you provide screenshots of all your TextBox options please.

Hi Danny,

attached is a screenshot.

Let me try to explain:

On the left top is a the ubermenu adapter plugin, on the right top is a language selector, which I put in via a textbox.

Underneath is the logo which I put in via a second texbox.

These are in the header.

I would like move these two textboxes around, minor changes, globally (because it will be recurring on all pages) without messing around with the general settings of the textbox section, which I will use in the pages anyway.

I find out how to do it locally, but then I will have to manually change all pages and templates.

If I have put html code for the header area manually -which I will have to figure out- then I might muck up the ubermenu adapter. And will not be using the pagelines system.

I hope I was able to make myself clear and appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance,

Nedim

I apologise, but I am not entirely sure what you're trying to achieve. Your first post said you had an issue with styling classes being applied to all TextBoxes on your page and now you're saying you want to move these boxes to make minor changes ?

What is your actual issue ?

I mean if I put a style like this one in the texbox section options global:

.languages
{
   line-height:0.5em;
  margin-top:-20px;
  margin-right:-10px;
}
it effects all textboxes on the same page.

If I add it on a local level, I will have to do that on all pages, which is weary.

That's the

Enhanced Options Editor for Pagelines DMS

which I bought in your store.

OK, I recommend you disable all active plugins except for DMS Pro Tools and see if the problem persists. As I am unable to recreate your issue, when I add a class to a TextBox, it is applied to that TextBox and no others.

I don't know what happened, but my problem seems to be solved now. Thanks for your help. Nedim

Very likely a plugin was causing a duplication.  Go through them, one by one, to see which, when reactivated, starts the problem again.  That will be the plugin to be replaced.
