Content/Post Loop Not Responding

Hi there,

 

 

My content/post loop is not responding when I change anything in it. ie. change it to magazine mode, switch to 3 full width posts instead of 4 etc. 

 

This has never happened before and no matter what I do (refresh, reload, log in and out etc.) it won't respond.  It also doesn't reflect what's live on the website, even when I refresh view my website and edit it. It's like it's stuck. There's a problem with the software, but I've never had this happen before and I don't know why it's doing it

Please help!?

My magazine mode is now not working at all.  I choose the magazine mode option, number of full width posts, and apply it (and save) but nothing changes.

Hi,

 

Can you disable all active plugins except for DMS Pro Tools please and see if this resolves your issue.

 

If it doesn't, can you enable PL Debug mode - DMS ToolBar > Settings > Advanced.

Thanks for the response.  I'm not sure which plugins are considered DMS Pro tools.  Can you tell me which ones are?

Hi,

I checked all my plugins (one by one) and each one is fine.  When I try to hide the excerpts, nothing happens with and without the plugins activated. I've enabled debug. 

Any more ideas?

Kendra, if you've enabled debug, there's an option there to display the report. Please use that, and copy the results, pasting them here.

Deactivate the following and see if your issue goes away:

all-in-one-seo-pack/all_in_one_seo_pack.php
easy-privacy-policy/easy-privacy-policy.php
google-analytics-for-wordpress/googleanalytics.php
jetpack/jetpack.php
simply-instagram/simply-instagram.php
wp-db-backup/wp-db-backup.php

 

Reactivate each of those, one at a time, making sure the problem hasn't returned. If it does, the last one reactivated is the one you have to replace.

Thanks! I did that last night and still no luck. The problem didn't go away and then I even tested each plugin by activating them one at a time and nothing.

The only thing I can think of then is the use of the image on top, which compels DMS to use the full image, not the thumbnail.  Magazine mode will only work with the thumbnail size.  Just to make sure... your license is properly applied to your installation?  I ask because Magazine Mode is only useable in the subscription versions.

Hi there,

The entire editor isn't working at all for the post loop.  Placing the thumbnail images, hiding the excerpts, how many full width posts there are, magazine mode etc. I make the changes in the editor, but nothing actually changes when I hit refresh. It looks like a software issue to me because this never happened before I updated to the new version.  

I've double checked that my pro key is active (it is) and I don't know where else to turn. Can someone log into my account to see what I'm talking about?

Yes I am, so I can see the changes before it's actually live.  When I hit refresh, none of the changes are implemented.

When you hit refresh before publishing, none of your changes are saved, and you're restoring to the previous condition.  Remember this as you would your address or phone... Publish then Refresh.  Believe me, that's the reason you're not seeing the changes.   They were made, but never stored.

Hi Rob,

I've always done it this way (so you can make the changes, perfect it, and then publish it only when you're ready and no one will see you working away at it) and it's never been an issue.  But I just tried to publish the changes first and then refresh and I'm still not getting any changes on my website.

I've logged in, and it won't even save for me either. 

 

I'm going to have to discuss this with our developers.  This is definitely not what should be happening. My apologies for the delay, but I haven't seen them today.

Thanks. I have updated and still no change.  Robert has confirmed that this shouldn't be happening.
