Place mailchimp into top fixed nav bar

Recommended Posts

I want to place a sign-up to a newsletter in the top menu bar

on the site I'm designing I will be using mailchimp.

Found this posting for

"poppy" http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/30343-poppy-as-menu-item/

thought by replacing the widget with mailchimp it would work

but it doesn't could you tell what I need to do to get the sign-up

for newsletter in the top menu bar to work?

Add to pagelines-customize functions.php/child theme functions.php....

function be_menu_extras($menu, $args) {

$extras = do_shortcode( '<li class="menu-item menu-item-type-custom menu-item-object-custom">[mc4wp-form type="a"]Contact[/mc4wp-form]</li>' );
return $menu . $extras;
add_filter('wp_nav_menu_items','be_menu_extras', 10, 2);

Its the black fixed bar at the top which also has facebook and twitter links.

If you go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus, and you select the menu that you're using for the Fixed Navbar (probably Simple Nav), on the left, you'll see a column of options. One is "Links".

Try replacing the 'http' bit with # and add this to the label field: [mc4wp-form type="a"]Contact[/mc4wp-form]

This placed the sign-up on the header,

But its not on one line !!

Theres no less editor in the

nav bar setup so I can't edit

the css if I can't do this then

I would like to move the sign-up

to the left with facebook

and twitter next to it but when

I rearrange the menu

bars in the said order nothing

Most Frustrating.

Any suggestions/help gratefully received.

Well, you wouldn't add the CSS into the menu.  You'd only include the shortcode.  Any related CSS should be posted to Custom Code or to a stylesheet in a child theme or PageLines Customize plugin.

If the form doesn't work on a single line, or can't be styled to go on one, then it's probably not advisable to use it in the Fixed NavBar.  Mailchimp will have to support the CSS for that, as we don't provide support for 3rd party plugins.

When you re-arrange the order, in Appearance > Menus, are you saving the menu?

If you have a cache plugin, are you using its settings to clear the cache?

      For some reason, when I widgetize an image by, uploading the media, linking it to a page, and dropping the html into a widget area in the "widget" tab, the thing works, but the image shows up SMALLER on the screen than when I just upload it as a pic in a "media box" component via pagelibnes. I can make the widget image bigger in the media file, but then it is blurry, whereas, automatically it is bigger and crystal clear when uploaded as just a media. My screenshot file was too big too attach, but please see webpage: devorakalma.com. The top pic (of the girls with the pink text) is just a media file; below it is the file in a widgetized area...   it is at 12/12 capacity and cannot be made bigger in editor. And as said, it just becomes blurry when made bigger in media. IS THERE A WAY TO DIRECTLY MAKE THE MEDIA BOX IMAGE CLICKABLE? Instead of going through dropping it in a widgetized area? I just want it to be large and clear, the way the top image looks. And to be able to click on it. Thank You!

      My site on framework is broken (we don't have acces on menus and widgets anaymore), but it took long hours to build this site with our client, over one year, that's why we still are using framework.
      I'm not sure the client would be ok to pay for a new site as this one is online for a few months only… So I would love to be able to work on this one built in Framework. Any idea?

      I recently changed the sidebar that the columnizer gets it's content from the default to a secondary one.  In doing so I lost the "Top Categories" and am left with just categories.  I've been searching the forums and the internet in general and can't seem to find a way to get the categories to display the top ones anymore.
      Any help would be appreciated.

      I would like to place a border around each widget box, similar to the way that White House Pro does that. Is this possible within DMS2? Thank you.
