Buttons and Menu on IE

I used CSS to change the colors of the navbar to a darker blue (same blue as the background behind "welcome to miller family dermatology" under the masthead image

and to change the button colors to a darker green.

These are working in firefox/chrome/safari, but are not working in internet explorer.  can someone point me toward example code to help fix them for those browsers?

this is what i did to override the button color:

#page .btn-success {
  color: #ffffff;
  font-size: 16px;
  padding: 6px 8px 8px;
  text-decoration: none;
  -webkit-border-radius: 6px;
  -moz-border-radius: 6px;
  border-radius: 6px;
  -webkit-box-shadow: 0px 1px 3px #666666;
  -moz-box-shadow: 0px 1px 3px #666666;
  box-shadow: 0px 1px 3px #666666;
  text-shadow: 0px 1px 3px #666666;
  border: solid #596911 1px;
  background: -webkit-gradient(linear, 0 0, 0 100%, from(#b3c272), to(#748a15));
  background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #b3c272, #748a15);
  -ms-filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorStr=#b3c272, endColorStr=#748a15);
  filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorStr=#b3c272, endColorStr=#748a15);
  display:inline-block; /* IE is so silly */
}

and this is for the menu:

/* This takes the built-in "blue" navbar and applies our color scheme to it */
.navbar.pl-color-blue {
border-top: 0px;
background-color: #34495E;
background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear,0 0,0 100%,from(#3C5064),to(#24384D));
background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(top,#3C5064,#24384D);
background-image: -moz-gradient(linear,0 0,0 100%,from(#3C5064),to(#24384D));
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #3C5064,#24384D);
background-repeat: repeat-x;
-ms-filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorStr=#3C5064, endColorStr=#24384D);
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorStr=#3C5064, endColorStr=#24384D);
}
