Centering Shortcode

Recommended Posts

arlomiller

I found that shortcode from a plugin that gives me the social share buttons with fewer server calls and better page load time, but I can't get the dumb thing to center.

Its a shortcode, [wps_social_buttons], inserted in a text box in the footer of my site

I've tried:

--styling class .tac

-wrapping the shortcode with alignment tags

<div style="align:center;">
[wps_social_buttons]
</div>

They won't budge from being left aligned.  I could just nudge the text box over, but that seems sloppy to me.

Arlo,

Try this:

<div class="mysocials">[wps_social_buttons]</div>

Then

.mysocials {text-align:center;}

Add it to Custom Code.

Okay, let me be an old guy for a moment, and try it the ancient way...

<center>[wps_social_buttons]</center>

Are we talking about all the links at the very bottom of your footer?

Arlo, remove anything we've done before.

Try this:

.wps-seo-booster-social-buttons {
    display: inline-block;
    margin: 10px 0 20px -20.5%;
    position: absolute;
    width: 100%;
}

The plugin is using an inline style of align: left;  Check its settings to see what the alignment options are. it may allow center.

no alignment options within the plugin.

tried the code suggested above, but it also did not work.  they aren't making this easy.

Why not just offset the TextBox so it's centered?
