NavBar Always Showing Alongside Fixed NavBar or CrackBar

When I take the NavBar out via Drag and Drop, I don't see it.

 

When I turn on the Fixed Nav bar, I see both NavBar and Fixed NavBar.

 

When I turn on CrackBar, I see both NavBar and CrackBar

 

PL version 2.44

WP version 3.6.1

Chrome browser

 

Attached a screenshot, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SCREENSHOT WAS TAKEN WITH ALL PLUGINS DEACTIVATED.  

 

What is also weird is that once I did this, a problem I had with properly configured drop-downs not actuating was solved.

Here's the same problem with a twist, at http://home.cookcountyil.gov/sustainability

 

The Fixed NavBar is showing alongside the NavBar.  However content differs.  I only have one navigation menu, and I don't have a page, post, category or tag that is titled "Dropdown"

 

In both cases, here and at the Budget page, I can show and hide the searchforms.

Hi there,

 

Can you take a screen shot of the drag and drop for us within the header area, so we can see which items are active within the header. If you have the navbar section in there as well as checking the fixed navbar option in the settings, remove the navbar section from the header to remove the nav. The fixed nav doesn't require the section to be present in the drag and drop, checking that tick box just inserts the fixed nav on top of the existing page etc.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

More than happy to supply a screenshot.  See attached.

 

I am a Pagelines Plus subscriber.  I don't know what extra that gets me, in the wake of the new release.  The "Dropdown" link on the Sustainability site troubles me. Again, I have no content with that name, and I have no idea (other than really dark and bad security related ones) how it got there.

Ok, I am not quite sure what your issue, if you have the NavBar in your Template area, then it will display and if you enable the Fixed NavBar (which isn't a section) then both of them will appear.

If you only want the Fixed navbar to be visible then do not add the NavBar section to your template.

Thanks, for some reason I thought I needed to have the element in the live area in order to actuate it, fixed or unfixed.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

      Hello, 
      I have an issue with NavPro on mobile when the link of the menue is on the same page. 
      Here is my website: http://foundersofthefuture.co
      The isssue comes from the fact that in my menue most of the items send somewhere else on the same page using anchor link (eg. #container_u788888). 
      This works well on desktop but on mobile, nothing happens when clicking on the link. One of the link of the menue of the homepage "France" sends to another page of the website and this one works well even on mobile. 
      I am using the Pagelines framework theme and also used a wordpress plugin (jQuery Smooth Scroll) for smooth scrolling .

      navigation dropdown menus in 5

      Hi guys. Just now trying out Platform 5. I like the reletive simplcity of the new interface but there are things I'm used to in DMS that I'm not seeing yet in 5. Is there a good manual, documentation, video series about some of the basics?
      In particular, I've got a simple navigation menu, created the standard way in WP menus section with several top level parents, then 3-4 children menu items below a couple parent items. Have them moved to the right to create the standard parent-child relationship but all I see on the page is the parent level items - no dropdown!. So I changed themes from Platform5 to the standard 2015 default theme and now I see absolutely no menu at top, except for the mobile (hamburger?) icon.
      In DMS, one had Navi and Navbar, etc sections and each would work differently and give different results. How do you work the menu system in 5? And how get different results ?

      NAVBAR misbehaves in hamburger mode

      I have a problem at http://kambo.world. Using navbar for the main site navigation. It works fine in normal/desktop mode [first screenshot], using the WP Menu I have specified. But in hamburger mode it seems to do its own thing, picking a few pages at random [second screenshot] A fix for this greatly appreciated!
