Lot of white space in header

Recommended Posts

mikeo9043

Hello,

In my header section, I have 2 things; a MediaBox for my logo and a navbar. Around my mediabox there is a lot of white space which pushes the site down. I want to bring my logo up higher towards the top of the browser.

Any help?

Thanks!

Hi mikeo9043 - Have you tried adjusting the Min Height in the media box section? You could also try a couple of other modifications like http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/30071-margin-in-mediabox/, or adjust the padding with CSS, see http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/29664-remove-padding-from-mediabox.

Have you searched the forums yet or checked out the DMS user docs?

It says I cannot access those pages due to permissions. I have the developer subscription, can't figure out how to link it to my account?

Hi mikeo9043 - You'll just need to enter your email address and activation key under Account in the DMS visual editor. Check out http://docs.pagelines.com/getting-started/installation for more instructions. If you're not sure what your key is, check the email confirmation you received when ordering, or email hello@pagelines.com from the email we have on file with your purchase for more assistance.

Mike,

When you purchased your Pro level account, you'll have received an email with a link to your account.  It will also be directed to the email address associated with your account.  Go to http://www.pagelines.com/my-account and login there. If it's already loggedin, log out and then login again.  Then, close your browser and return to the forum, to the links Jake provided.

Meanwhile, Jake is correct.  Set the padding to 0 in the setting provided in MediaBox.  I'll add to my colleague's suggestion by recommending that you also view your site in Firefox and use Firebug to inspect the element to see if there are any margins or extra padding coming from the container where the Media Box is added. Also, make sure the padding is set to 0 in the container where the Media Box is set. Some may have a min-height setting, which can be overcome by finding the right container, then editing it in Chrome/DMS.
