Rev Slider Height

Recommended Posts

microsqueek

Hey, I'm having some trouble with the height of the Rev Slider on the home page here: http://nationalmallunderground.org. I've tried adjusting the aspect ratio of the images, but it always crops them. And I'm having trouble getting the code to let me increase the height of the slider. Can you suggest something please?

Thanks!

The height is based on your width, the inline documentation for the Rev Slider suggests the following:

For high resolution, 2000px wide x 800px tall images.

What size images are you using ?

Thanks for getting back. I've tried different aspect ratios, including 1280x720, 1280x960 and 2000x800. The images at 2000px are large anyway, and it's difficult to reduce them enough to upload without compromising resolution.

The point is, I don't want the height to be 800px, but much larger (the 2000x800 is much too narrow, it looks ridiculous as a full page slider). So, is there a way to tell the slider that a max height is larger than 800, so that when I put in a 1200x960 image, it doesn't crop it into a narrow rectangle, but allow it to fill the screen? My editor is having trouble identifying information about the slider, so I can't really modify the code myself - it's causing a lot of trouble!

Firstly do not bump posts when you haven't received a reply within 4 hours. I have only just started my shift and you're in a que.

The Revslider can not be used in the way you want it to, meaning you can't change the height of it, without using custom CSS. Therefore, I recommend you either use custom CSS to override the max-height of 480px or find an alternative Slider, you can install the Legacy Plugin and use the old Feature Slider from PageLines Framework, this gives you a lot more control.

Little bit rough, actually. I didn't realise I was pushing up a queue, don't usually use forums like this.

I want to change the CSS, but it doesn't seem to respond. I've put this in:

.revslider-container {
  width: 100% !important;
  position: relative;
  padding: 0;
  max-height: 600px !important;
  overflow: hidden;
}

This should increase the max height from 480px to 600px, but it's not actually having an impact. The height is staying at 480px. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm also having trouble with the custom CSS in changing a button colour - I could tell it to change a button colour a few days ago, and now it doesn't show up. Any idea why that might be?

Thanks.

Hi,

Try adding the following too:

.revslider-full {
max-height: 600px !important;
}

I have also reported this on our issue tracker too.

      Hello, I am having a problem similar to that experienced by Michael Kummer here. We have pages that show this automatic scrolling issue (examples here and here) and it is sufficiently annoying that we have seen customers bounce while trying to convert. Strangely, it only happens at specific resolutions, so it can be difficult to reproduce. In general we can only consistently reproduce it on a 4k resolution with a browser width between 1517 and 1536px.
      Thanks to Michael Kummer's help we were able to set the overflow-anchor property to none in the entire body, which fixed the issue as far as we can tell, but also obviously disabled scroll anchoring for the whole site. I tried applying it to the specific element that looked like it was being reloaded, which was the PL Meganav extension, but that was unsuccessful.
      Can anyone help us figure out which element or ID we can apply this property to, so that we can fix the scrolling issue but not disable scroll anchoring for the entire site?
      Thank you -

      Hello,
      Shouldn't the image PL5 component be using the srcset/picture css directives to pick the correct size for an image? or it does already and I don't know how to use it? Thank you for any advice or enlightenment.

      Good Evening/Afternoon or Morning,
      I am running into a problem with CSS styling not applying inside of most browsers (Safari, Firefox) when I am logged in to wordpress, and all browsers that I have tested when I am logged off and the site has been made public (Chrome, Firefox and Safari).
      As a result, I have managed to identify the probable cause. It looks as though these browsers are refusing to render my sites compiled CSS file due to it being a HTTP URL rather than HTTPS.
      I have attempted to change this URL to HTTPS in my browser, however it brings back an ERROR: File not found page - https://www.shortfilmblog.com/wp-content/uploads/pagelines/compiled-css-core-1505847507.css
      What would you suggest in this regard? Would this be resolvable from your end?
      Happy to provide any further details required.
