Hello Kris

The footer on the Pagelines.com site is made using columnizer - You can see a tutorial on how to set it up here http://docs.pagelines.com/tutorials/

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

I am able to use the columnizer to create the effect I would like but how do I go about it having the same background as my footer?

www.berkmarbasketball.com is the site I am working on

Columnizer should be invisible, so if it's placed in your footer, not over it, the footer's color should shine through.  I see that the Columnizer is doing exactly that on www.berkmarbasketball.com
