How to have different headers and branding for different sections

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is it possible to have different headers on different parts of a website? For example to have a logo and dark navigation text on a light background on the home page and a reversed logo and white navigation text on a dark background on all other pages of a site?

Hi,

Add the Universal, or Full Width sidebar to the header area in Dashboard > PageLines > Drag & Drop. One, or the other, not both.

Install  Widget Logic plugin and activate it.

In Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets, add a text widget to which ever sidebar you added to the header.

Use the Responsive Grid http://support.pagelines.me/docs/miscellaneous/grid-system/

Set it up with two columns.  Probably best (depending on the width of your branding image) to use 6 and 6 (the total values must equal 12).  In the one, add your branding logo, using standard HTML image code (remember to use the ALT for SEO purposes). In the other, add your other content, as desired. You may wrap things inside these fields in custom classes, applying CSS to the site.

In the Widget Logic field, tell the widget where and when to appear.  Use these conditional tags to select the pages, posts, categories, etc.  http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags

Add another  text widget, and repeat the process with different info in the fields and different locations in Widget Logic.

Voila'  You'll have different headers on different pages, categories, posts. as you desire.

Be absolutely sure to read the docs for Widget Logic and the Responsive Grid.
