Hello Magazine Layout?

Recommended Posts

fliptheu

Hi,

I have magazine layout to full posts on my landing page, but when I drill into a category, the posts are in list view. I have magazine full in both local section and global. Also, only when there are more than two posts in that category does it go into list view, when there is one, the magazine mode works. I have full view set to 10 posts.

Why does it not work correctly?

Thanks for your help in advance.

fliptheu, sorry I can't help with the magazine layout but I'd love to know what you are using for the gallery grid image on your site http://bartflipped.com/#mg and http://fliptheu.com

Cheers

Hi JaffaDave, I am using http://codecanyon.net/item/media-grid-wordpress-responsive-portfolio/2218545?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=LCweb , it is super versatile and you can style it minimally or not.

Actually, it is working correctly.

The settings for 10 full-width posts is for the blog page only, not category, archive or search results pages. All those will display in two columns (which is known as magazine mode) as long as there are two or more posts on the page. If only one, it usually defaults to full-width.

There are no settings to change this, that I know about. We've found website visitors prefer the two column approach.

Actually, I found that turning that local section to List Mode made it so it showed full.

I am going for the tumblog approach as it is simple, and creates a constant flow of content consumption, and the two column approach is not good for that. I really think that has to be an option to have control over, if I have found a glitch that made it go full..
