Hi again,

Just want to clarify some things.

I have one child theme for each of my sites, which all points to the main DMS theme like this:

/*
Theme Name: DMS - Name of the current site
Description: Child theme for Name of the current site.
Template: dms
*/

I only enable each child theme for each site and I do not have the main DMS theme network enabled or enabled on any of the sites.

So this is what i have found:

- If main DMS theme is network enabled.

Result: Cannot update DMS.

- If main DMS theme is network disabled.

Result: Cannot update DMS.

- If child DMS theme is enabled to a site.

Result: Cannot update DMS.

- If main DMS is enabled to a site.

Result: I can update.

Is this the way it's suppose to work?

Also, if i enable the main DMS theme on one of my sites and perform the update, will the update also be applied to all other sites using a child DMS theme? Or do i need to do this on all sites using a child DMS theme?

You are using a very old version, perhaps try updating manually?

DMS is on version 1.0.3 (as of yesterday) and it's progressing regularly and quickly.

Honestly, I have no idea to your two questions, as I really hate Wordpress Multsite, imo it causes more issues than its worth and therefore, don't use it.

However, I will setup a test network and try your issues, if I find anything I'll reply here.

You have to continue with the update process, thats where the problem is.

- If main DMS theme is network enabled.

Result: Cannot update DMS.

- If main DMS theme is network disabled.

Result: Cannot update DMS.

- If child DMS theme is enabled to a site.

Result: Cannot update DMS.

- If main DMS theme is enabled to a site.

Result: I can update.

Now, I have setup one child theme for each site in the network. No sites have the main DMS theme activated and the main DMS theme is not network enabled. So to update i need to enable the main DMS theme to one of the sites and then update. This is okay, because all sites uses the main DMS files. But what if there's updates to the database tables, will these updates be applied to all sites that uses a DMS child theme? Note that I only temporarily activat the main DMS theme to one of the sites to be able to perform the update.
