DMS Constantly Crashes, Not Happy

I have to say I'm really disappointed with DMS so far. I loved the last version of Pagelines and the control it let you have over everything -- with ease. But the DMS interface constantly freezes in Chrome and requires multiples reloads to unfreeze -- even when the page reloads, I still can't click anything. I've lost my home page design twice already tonight -- I changed the template for each secondary page, and even though it only asked me if I wanted to change that particular page, it wiped out my home page design twice.

 

Isn't there a way to get the old interface back -- the "simplicity" of this wysiwig drag and drop just seems to complicate everything -- I feel like I'm locked out of designing the site the way I want to -- it feels like "Pagelines for dummies."

Hi honeyberk,

 

I completely understand you frustration but this issue is most likely not related to DMS, we have thousands of people using DMS without it crashing. Therefore, I'm inclined to think that this issue is most likely caused by either one more of the following:

 

1. A plugin - disable all active plugins and see if this resolves your issue.

2. A chrome addon/extension, - disable to see if this resolves your issue.

3. Your server configuration, can you enable PageLines Debug mode which is located in DMS Toolbar > Global Options > Advanced. Once enabled, reply here informing us along with a link to your site.

4. It could also be caused by a custom script, disable any you have added and see if this resolves your issue.

A link to your site would be great, so we can see if there are any errors popping up.

I had that issue before in Chrome as well. It turned out to be a Chrome theme i was using that did not play well with DMS. I contacted the author and explained the issue. He provided an update several days later. Definitely disable your add-ons first including any Chrome themes.

Thx for the responses -- I'll try and disable extensions and see if that helps.

 

Another question -- is there no longer live chat tech support, like there was with the Framework Pro subscription?

The chat is no longer supported.  The volume of support became overwhelming and our moderators couldn't really handle it.  So, its no t moderated anymore, but it's technically still there.  The way it worked, the chat was unfair to some, as one member might dominate the conversation, interrupting as the moderator was trying to help another.  This wasn't done for bad purposes, but the result was the moderators had problems helping each individually.

      I am having an issue with DMS editor not loading.  Just keeps spinning and spinning.
      Have tried several things - Logged in and out, cleared cache, deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.
      I even had our host restore from a backup a few weeks ago, when I know it WAS working, as I edited a text box on the homepage.  The restore from backup didn't help either.
      Also, the front end of the site shows that the site is framed, or boxed now (whatever you call it), instead of full width as it was previously (last week).
      Dev console shows that there are php errors in Google maps - file is attached.
      Can someone please help?  Not sure what else I can do here...

      Hi everyone, what happens is that the web page metrosalarmas.com has a google tags which I have not attacked where I can look to remove those tags and be able to locate the correct ones.

      Hi everyone,
      Flywheel have reported errors on my clients site 'www.racewaredirect.co.uk' and it's not loading. Can someone please provide some information on how to fix this? The site has never experienced these issues before.

      Hi there,
      I've got an issue with 3 websites built with DMS since I migrated them from http to https that I need help with please.
      When any changes are made - e.g. new posts added or existing posts amended - certain sections of the live site seem to break e.g. image headers hang and don't load (b/g on canvas section), sliders hang and don't load (Revslider), flipper section doesn't load.
      Logging in and then clicking 'Edit the site using DMS' seems to fix the problem. Often if I try to open up another browser window to edit the site / re publish I'm unable to as the page wont load / hangs while trying to load.
      Any ideas how to fix this? On a couple of the sites I've installed a caching plugin as I thought it might be a loading speed issue but it's still happening.
