robbin_g 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2009 Hello! I see Feature media/text/title as custom fields on the Post edit page. What is this used for if the features are all set up in the Feature Setup section? Is it possible to automate the features page? If I could, Feature 1 would be static. (A welcome splash of sorts) and Features 2-6 would be my 5 most recent blog posts. Thanks!
Andrew 207 Report post Posted December 16, 2009 The feature fields you see when creating pages are for the 'highlight-page' template. Try it Is it possible to automate the features page? This is coming in a future release via shortcodes...
robbin_g 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2009 These were actually generated on a POST in custom fields, not as part of the template on highlight page. I have no idea how they got there really... oh well! More of a curiosity than a problem. Looking forward to the features being automated!
hiramp 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 Same here. I just purchased the theme and was disappointed that I couldn't immediately mirror the look and feel of the demo site. Instead, I'm faced with 1001 options. I know having options is a good thing but you might want to consider a default setting that sets up the theme exactly the way it's on the demo site. After all, the look-and-feel of the demo site is exactly why I purchased the theme in the first place. I understand that most people (including myself) will want to customize things down the road. However, as a starting point, I thought I was purchasing something that would make my site look like the demo site. In other words, I thought what I bought would look like the "picture on the box," but it didn't. Yes, I know I can eventually make it look like that but that's like ordering a brand new car from a catalog and getting a bunch of bolts and sheet metal instead -- along with the comment that with "some customization," you can make it look like the picture in the catalog. I know I'm not expressing myself very well but hopefully, you get the gist and take it under consideration. This is a great theme and you've done a great job on it so I'm not complaining (much). Oh well, back to bolting pieces of sheet metal together....<grin> Hiram
hiramp 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 I stand corrected!!! It appears all I had to do was to hit the "Restore Defaults" button at the bottom of the options screen to have most things mirror the demo site. We're humming now!! Hiram
