Navigation Color Background

I want to change the navigation bar to match the branding of our website instead of the default options. I've read posts that says to add this coding into CSS:

div.main_nav li.menu-item {color: #cccc99; background-color: #373808;}
div.main_nav li.menu-item a:hover {color: #999933; background-color: #373808;}

I've entered that in PageLines>SiteOptions>Custom Code. It is still showing a black bar. Is there something else I need to enter???

Hi Angie - It might be easiest for you to give the Simple CSS plugin a try, it can be downloaded at http://launchpad.pagelines.com/api/store_free/plugin-simple-css-lite.zip and works to easily customize the classic nav. If that doesn't do the trick, would you mind sharing the URL of the site you're working on so we can take a look?

Have you searched the forums yet or checked out the DMS user docs?

The NavBar can be changed with CSS, but you may simply prefer to use Ubermenu, which is a fantastic 3rd party menu plugin available at http://www.codecanyon.net.

Ubermenu has amazing CSS styling functionality built into settings and is tried and true in Framework. I think you'll be most surprised at how well your site will look using it.

Hi, Not sure where you got hat CSS from in your first post, but that won't work. If you want to change to the color of the NavBar to a custom color. I recommend you inspect the element using your browsers web dev tools. Inspect the NavBar you should find the class that gives it its color. All you need to do is override this class with your CSS. I recommend you review our Custom CSS documentation for more information. The PageLines Framework documentation appears to be down at the moment, so I have provided you with a link to our DMS customization doc, the information is identical. http://docs.pagelines.com/customize/overriding-default-css

Please search our forums, before posting!
