Remove Blog Name from Site Title

Recommended Posts

I'm having difficulty adding the wp_title without it being prepended with the blog name / site name. This is really weird and is outputting as follows:-

Site Name | Page Name

And this occurs with the following php:-

All I want to show is the page title on its own.

Is Pagelines overriding the default Wordpress functionality or is this something really silly I'm missing.

Note have tried SEO plugins and different copde variations but the Site name is always added in front.

Best Regards

Seems sometimes posting a question helps clarify things for you. I noted that Pagelines also uses:-

... and then noted that didn't work on 'archives' so wrote the following code:-

if ( is_post_type_archive() ) {
    <?php post_type_archive_title(); ?>
else {
echo get_the_title();
} ?>
This works well for my use, but if anyone else can come up with something else that would be interesting.

Doesn't WordPress handle this, and not PageLInes (Framework or DMS)?

      I need to "swap" the current title tag in a child theme for the following:
      <title><?php wp_title(); ?></title> I've searched WordPress forums and on Google but haven't found anything that works.
      Any ideas?
