Installing Plugins....

Recommended Posts

I know there is probably a simple answer to this.  I cant seem to find how to add new plugins/sections to dms.  its not in the documentation anywhere.

I placed the new section via ftp in my child theme. Therefore you need to create a folder "sections". Just put the new section inside of this folder.

That works great for me.

As soon as it is integrated you will see the new section in the front end editor under "add sections" /"your sections". So you can use it.

Hope I could help?

Yeah this is my bad, It hasn't been made that clear. I have list of things that I want/need to update for the docs and will get started on it this week.

You can see basic instructions here - http://docs.pagelines.com/configure/pagelines-store

All sections in DMS are now plugins and should be installed via the Wordpress plugin installer.

Please search our forums, before posting!

Danny"] yeah thanks,  I finally figured that out by just trying to install as a plugin.  I knew it was different in the other pagelines framework though.  This seems less confusing but I was suprised that there was no mention of plugin installation in docs at all.  @[member="onlineprofiler I see that but I have a plugin that is structured like this.

splash-box - folder

     ->sections folder

     ->php file

            >another folder called splash-box

            >more files

would I just plop the entire folder in sections or just part of it, all the folders in folders  are a bit confusing so not sure where to put what.

      How can I get support on pagelines DMS? The product isn't that old and my skeleton themes aren't working and I can't get support in the same way?

      I have a number of legacy websites that are running on the above version of Pagelines DMS, where the template has stopped working. I am using a skeleton theme to all of them. What do I need to do to rectify this.

      Just seeing the warning  ' The Plugin "PageLines Platform 5" has been removed from wordpress.org.'  for the first time - are there going to be any updates or is this the final nail in coffin for Platform 5!?

      I am having an issue with DMS editor not loading.  Just keeps spinning and spinning.
      Have tried several things - Logged in and out, cleared cache, deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.
      I even had our host restore from a backup a few weeks ago, when I know it WAS working, as I edited a text box on the homepage.  The restore from backup didn't help either.
      Also, the front end of the site shows that the site is framed, or boxed now (whatever you call it), instead of full width as it was previously (last week).
      Dev console shows that there are php errors in Google maps - file is attached.
      Can someone please help?  Not sure what else I can do here...
      Thanks in advance.
