Hi Guys, is there an easy way to add custom fields for certain text I want in a post? For instance:

Title - 1969 Ford Mustang - As normal

Text - Description text here, thats fine. As normal

Chassis Number - 123456 Ok, I need a custom field for this.

Price - £1000 - And a Custom field for this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Ben,

When you create a post in WP, there's an ability built right into the editing page to add custom fields. All you have to do is click Screen Options on the top, right side.

Check the box for Custom Fields. Then, click Screen Options.  Now, scroll down till you see the Custom Fields panel (you may have to click the little down-pointing arrow to open it.  There, you may create new custom fields for posts. Once you save your post, the Custom Fields panel will exist on all posts you create.

Here's how to use it:  http://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields

Hi Rob, thanks for that. I have seen that before. But what I'm after is a field that is present on every post when created so my client who can barely use a computer doesn't have to create a new field each time. I need to read up on it, I just thought there might be a simple way with PL.

Cheers
