Pagelines javascript errors, can't edit any section

Recommended Posts

The first error below appears to be related to the GitHub checkout going to the DMS directory instead of "dms".  I renamed the directory, but DMS doesn't seem to have gotten the memo -- no big deal, but the graphic has to be re-uploaded, or the database reference tweaked by hand.

The others are DOM exceptions and result in the controls showing on each section, but not doing anything when clicked.

Not sure why it would be trying to access something on the PageLines site itself, probably just because I haven't removed any of the PageLines content, but the resource isn't there.

The framing errors with YouTube are cross domain security issues.

Hi,

Get DMS from www.pagelines.com.  Unzip the dms.zip file so the dms folder resides on your desktop. Close Chrome.

FTP into your site.  Navigate to wp-content/themes and delete the dms folder there (the one you renamed).  Don't worry about settings.

Now, once deleted, you can upload the new dms folder you have on your desktop.  Let it complete.  Once it does, then you can open Chrome and login as admin.  View your site.  The editor should work.

As for Youtube, I'm not sure what's going on with that except that it's very likely the original DMS install you did was possibly corrupted and YouTube can't read the proper javascript.

We use APIs for delivery of some code to keep your site functional and your license validated. That's why it connects to PL.com.

I hope this helps.  Let us know, please.

Ok, I was pulling from Github so as to have the latest code.  Is that not a valid way of keeping a site up to date?  I  understanding that it's bleeding edge code and all, but I'm just experimenting to see whether DMS will be useful for my purposes at this point.

Please tell me more about this.

Does this mean that my site is dependent on some code from your site to run?

Does my site stop working if your server(s) go down for whatever reason?

Is there some backdoor method where, if you somehow think I've violated your licensing terms, that my site can be shut down remotely?

I didn't see anything about this in the license agreement, but who ever reads all of those things anyway?

As far as I am aware, the answer to all your questions above is no. We do shut down sites remotely, the only thing that can happen is if you cancel your monthly subscription, you will use the Pro editing tools that is mentioned on our Pricing page.

Those errors are most likely either related to the Bleeding edge build or a plugin/script you have installed. I run the several sites running either DMS version 0.9.6 and Bleeding edge build and I do not encounter those errors.
