Am I able to use a test website address for my website?

Hi to all,

I've been working on my first website for a client of mine and currently the website is live but I'm using a 'Coming Soon' plugin so that people are unable to view the website without signing into wordpress. However, the client (also a friend of mine) wants to know what's the best way for him to view the website so he can begin looking at layout and content needed (text, images etc) without making it live for everyone to see!

If someone could please let me know what's the best way to do this I would be very grateful. I was initally thinking of simply giving him a wordpress account so that he's able to sign in himself because soon he'll need to be able to change basic content, add products and descriptions etc.

Thanks, James

Hi James,

Just do as you suggested above and create your client a user account. If you do not want to give him uber powers, you can use a roles editor plugin and limit his accounts ability.

No problem.

Another alternative is to signup for the FlyWheel beta. FlyWheel is a Wordpress host that is currently in beta. That has an awesome user interface and allows you to build a demo website, this includes allowing you to create new user accounts so they can access the demo website.

This is a great feature whist you build your clients websites.
