Theme broken after logout / DMS broken after login

Recommended Posts

Armin

Hi,

I am expierincing a weird error on the two websites I set up this week on DMS.

Everything went fine for a couple of days. Since today it is broken and I don't know how to solve this. I did not even work on the pages today. I really could need some help here...

1. Theme broken after logout (= Everything is fine when I am logged in...)

Page: http://evenements.wpengine.com/

This is how my page looks like when I am logged in:

Bildschirmfoto-2013-08-01-um-00.31.49.pn

But this is how my page looks like when I am logged out

Bildschirmfoto-2013-08-01-um-00.31.22.pn

On another website I expierence somehow the opposite.

2. DMS broken after login (= Everything is fine when I am logged out)

Page: http://alvarumfrench.wpengine.com/collecteurs/

This is how my page looks like when I am logged out:

Bildschirmfoto-2013-08-01-um-00.37.19.pn

This is how my page looks like when I am logged in:

Bildschirmfoto-2013-08-01-um-00.38.10.pn

Anyone knows what this is?

Hi armin

Please, if you have Chrome extension, you can disable every and you see if this have caused the problem.
Especially a chrome extension called Galaxy for Chrome OS,
Have you Chrome with the last version?
I hope this help.

Hi, thanks a lot for your answer! My chrome is up to date (Version 28.0.1500.95 m) and I deactivated all plugins.

The problem still prevails. And I don't think it is related to the browser.

If you look on this page, you see that there is just nothing expect a half broken background: http://evenements.wpengine.com/

No sections or content at all is displayed. It must be a bug in DMS.

I think it is the same issue as here: http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/28403-frontend-broken-visual-editor-not-working/

Hi Armin,

Yes I have the same problem.
I have fixed the problem ... :-) I have reinstalled in no subfolders wp.
Wp must be installed in the same folder as the web page is accessible.
Then everything works perfectly.

Previously I had a subfolder for wordpress .... / websitedomain.de / wordpress
That did not work, the site was broken after logout.

Now I have for new wordpress installs in .... / websitedomain.de

I hope it helps you, I think it is a bug ....

many greetings from Germany, Thomas

Hi armin

To expand Finon said

Please, you can try with

Extract the file dms.zip or dms-dev.zip in you PC or PC

and then upload the theme via FTP

The right folder is

wp-content / themes / dms

One more

Disable all active non-Pagelines plugins and see if your issue persists.

Thanks for your answers.

1. My wordpress is always hosted directly at top level

2. I deactivated all plugins

3. I reinstalled DMS via FTP

It did all not help.

I made a rollback to the backup from yesterday morning and now it is working fine again. Let's see if the error comes back.

Thanks for your help again!

I seem to be having a similar issue. All pages look fine when logged out, but if I'm logged in, only the homepage functions properly. It's like the CSS is broken on every other page, all the content is there, including the editor but it's clearly b0rked. Not using any Chrome extensions and the only WP plugin I've got enabled at this point is Akismet.

I have the issue again. I think the DMS install is broken in this case.

First, make sure you get the dms.zip directly from either your account or from the homepage of PageLines.com.

Make sure you do not have DEV-DMS or DMS-DEV as the folder name where it is installed in wp-content/themes. Use FTP to do this. If you do, please delete it entirely. Do not try to overwrite files because that will not fix an error.

Unzip the dms.zip you get from your account or our homepage to the desktop. When the old installation is fully deleted, upload the dms folder from your desktop.  That fixes all installation errors.

hopk your installation is corrupted too.  Do as cited above.

Whenever I see that type of result... it reminds me of what I went through and the answer to my question was:

adding this to wp-config.php

define( 'PL_NO_DYNAMIC_URL', true );

It may not do a darn thing for you, but it solved my problem in Framework, but I have yet to need it in DMS.

Indeed (it doesn't do a darn thing).

I was wondering what made the homepage so special that it was editable/rendered properly while logged in versus the others, and it seems to be based on whatever static page I've set as the homepage in Wordpress settings. If I change it to another page, that suddenly works fine with all the other pages then broken.

Hi,

I am unable to recreate this issue, I have tried the method that another user is having where apparently Wordpress SEO is causing a similar issue. I have already made a page a static front page, logged out and my layout was fine. Therefore, it is either related to a plugin, a browser addon/extension or your servers configuration, in my opinion.

Its very difficult as I am unable to recreate the issue. Therefore, can all of you who are experiencing this issue please enable PageLines Debug mode from DMS Toolbar > Global Options > Advanced and once enabled, reply here and we can take a closer look.

Danny I've disabled all browser extensions and have tried it in Safari (with the UA set to Chrome) to try to rule out browser issues too. If it is a server issue, what can I try/tell you to try to perhaps get to the bottom of this?

Do you have v2 Compatibility mode active, if so please disable and see if this resolves the issue.
