Where can I download the BASE Child Theme... It says in the documentation in the DMS Store but I don't see it anywhere.

Thanks

you can download it here: http://www.pagelines.com/store/themes/pagelines-template-theme/

(instructions http://docs.pagelines.com/customize/base-child-theme)

or, you can also try the other base theme of Nick, a great pageline developer at https://github.com/bearded-avenger/nicks-base-theme

I'm sorry, but this just isn't an acceptable answer. The DOCS say "available free from the PageLines Store." We have a link with a 404 or the option to go get the Base Theme from some dude named Nick. I don't mean to offend Nick, actually appreciate what he has done, but feel like this is Pagelines' responsibility to resolve, not Nick's.

Patrick C you are right about PageLines should provide proper links and downloads.

However, this seems to be not an easy job at this very moment, due to launch issues and hacks.

I understand any frustration but I tried to assist a PageLines user just like I am.

I'm sure PageLines has no reason to mess things up and people at PageLines are working hard to repair stuff and assist everybody like they did before.

Again and for the record: I just tried to assist with no interests regarding to PageLines at all... I'm just a user as well.

As I have a copy of the base theme template, I changed the style.css template line in "dms" and made a zip file for you to download (ofcourse no guarantees!!!):

Patrick C"] and @[member="perininero,

While I totally understand the frustration, I'd love to know what you guys would do if your sites were totally hacked and systems built over years were compromised? Do a backup restoration and leave it open to repeating?

We are trying very hard to make sure that this doesn't happen again, and because our site communicates routinely with yours, we want to make sure that your sites are protected too.  Of course, some would rather simply criticize, which is fine by me. Speak your minds. But, remember, bad comments really smack of intolerance and impatience, and a most inappropriate level of inconsidation for our efforts.

I'm closing this topic as it's resolved.  Thanks for your continued input.

So I am still trying to find this customize plugin, the base child theme or any of the free plugins that are mentioned in the documentation.  Its been over 2 weeks since the last post about this and it still isn't resolved at least for me anyway.  The only solution I have found is someone posted there base child theme to github which is fine but I would like to know when and where I can get my hands on the official plugins and base child theme?

I understand that the Base child theme is for developers to create new child themes, and that you recommend non-developers to use the Pagelines Customize Plug-in.

      I am a non-developer, and I have the customize plug-in.

My current challenge is that I want the PostNav to only show posts that are within the same category, and for that I need to edit section.php inside the postnav section folder of pagelines.

Since I don't want to loose my edits with each of your next updates, I figured that installing the base child theme and copying my modified section.php file there was the best thing to do.

This is working, but creating another problem: the base child theme is now messing up my header by showing a brandnav menu with a link to all my pages (not posts).

How/where can I tweak this configuration? The base child theme should not impact / interfere at all with the header and navigation menu of the main theme.

      Thank you.
