Because many people are saying they have DMS, but can't access their Launchpad accounts anymore, even in Framework.

I know your only a spokesperson here, but if your car (if you had one) was in the shop for repairs you would be seriously fed up waiting for a status report. In fact you would move to a different garage!

 

I have worked in enterprise systems for almost 17 years and making sure we can recover is a critical part of the job. To me it looks like your DR methodology failed. Hence you are doing a rebuild and with this process 'Mean Time to Recovery' is an unknown. 

 

Apart from your info above and blog post 3 days ago http://www.pagelines.com/coming-back-online/ what new can you tell your paying customers?.

If my car were in a repair shop during the week and no one bothered to do anything or even reply, sure I'd be miffed.  If my car were a 1920's Model T, sure, it should be fixed quick.  But if it's a 2013 Ferrari Testarossa, I'd kind of expect it to take a bit to rebuild things after an accident.  Wouldn't you?  

 

Our staff have schedules, work hard and need weekends off to refuel, and get their minds in order - some did work, by the way, trying to resolve large volumes of work.  Our developers didn't stop working at all, doing 20 hour days, 7 days a week, trying to rebuild a very complex thing.  Our effort was to get things done as quick as can be.  Personally, I pulled two, ten hour+ days, pretty much on my own, to answer well over 250 forum topics and replies.  Normally on a weekend day, I'll do 30. 

 

I totally understand everyone's patience is stretched to the limit.  Believe me, I really do.  I just hope everyone can hold on, use what they can and do their best as we do the very same thing.  

 

I apologize if this is taking very long, and assure you and everyone else, I've done nothing less than advocate on your behalf to expedite things as much as possible. I'll continue doing that, till all's well.

DMS seems to be working now. I am able to access front end editor, store etc. Still have the 404 on download but it is not urgent in perspective

Could you please explain how to do this? (In sufficient detail so I don't have to hunt through the entire Docs area - which doesn't seem to have a search facility[!] - to find that information)
 
I'm someone who bought a PL Dev licence in April, paid monthly Dev fees since then, bought several sections, joined the so-called 300, asked to do beta testing (an offer never taken up), got up in the middle of the night (at the weekend, as I recall!) to participate in a pre-launch "let's get excited together" session that frankly seemed to have little purpose - and over the last ten days, I've written two supportive articles to help promote PL (without seeking or receiving payment, of course).
 
Yet since the 'launch, I have been unable to access my account in any way. Not a single explanatory email received.
 
Thanks to this post, I have, for the first time, been able to get on-server access to sections I previously bought. But still no activation key for DMS..
 
I wrote a polite email at the weekend asking for support. Two full days later, no reply - and this post suggests it was out of line to even expect a reply "at the weekend"!
 
In my case, PageLines had a substantial reservoir of enthusiastic goodwill a week ago. It is by now almost exhausted. 
 
If new DMS buyers can access the new software, why can't previous subscribers be quickly enabled to access it too?
 
Please get your act together ASAP.

Please, you can try go to

Global Options > Enable v2 Compatibility Mode

You can see the image

Take care with the note:

PL has added some settings that may help you upgrade from Framework (v2). To use these, select them and then publish. 
Note that due to the substantial amount of changes in DMS, there may still be issues. These features will be removed with DMS v3.1.

I installed the DMS theme and now this shows on all pages: Fatal error: Call to undefined function pl_has_editor() in /home/content/27/8853127/html/wp-content/themes/dms/sections/navbar/section.php on line 222

 

What do I do to fix this?

Thanks to Batman for his informative instructions. I followed them (approx 12 hours ago) and was able to enable V2 compatibility, although it honestly didn't seem to do me much good - I still could't use the pro features of DMS and a full revert to my previous PL2 theme gave me more options to work with than that.

 

Today (Tuesday, my time) I can't login to my account from a website dashboard AGAIN! (one step forwards, two steps back!).

 

Still no reply from "hello@pagelines.com" to the email seeking help that I wrote on Saturday. Is it possible to get a reply without further delay? I didn't even receive an autoresponder acknowledgement!

 

I could say more, but no need for hyperbole. I just want the most basic service.

I am surprised the PR machine hasnt kicked in or even a statement from the CEO. The mods here are doing there best but they are only spokespeople. I logged a call myself last Saturday and still no reply. 

 

From my perspective DMS works, but I have never used the previous version so I don't know what the difference is. I would love to do a comparison to ensure I am getting full functionality, I expect I am not based on the leading statement.here. Of course I am sure this will change over time, 

 

Can anyone suggest a article doing a comparison?

Rob im unable to login to Launchpad. Im installed DMS theme and found that alot of the sections are still not supported. 

After seeing Launch pad had returned I wanted to go back to the old PL frame work. When  Ive tried to login it wont let me is my account still valid?

Thanks for the update, so if I am correct on new builds...... You need to login above (http://launchpad.pagelines.com), download all relevant plugins (including the Framework Pro) then upload to the website, and off you go?

 

Brilliant, a cumbersome, but working solution - I can get billing again :0) 

 

I'm actually skipping here...........  :D

Hi everyone.  Hi support.

 

I am a little confused on all these upgrades.  The latest version of Pagelines that I have is v.2.3.8 - Developer's version.  So does this mean that I am automatically upgraded with the new DMS?  

 

Also, when I try to configure my Pagelines account with my website, my account "ca one time annot be found".

 

I paid a one time fee when I first purchased Pagelines back in December 2012.

Now I see you have monthly recurring fees.

 

Please advise as I really want to use your awesome framework and theme.

Stara, they have issues with the Framework, which means you can't login and get your paid for Pro services from the Launch Pad.  IF you click on the link in the top post, this will get you to the paid services which includes the Framework Pro files. 

 

DMS is a completely new product.  

 

If you're logging into your account from the www.pagelines.com, its probably taking you to the DMS service not your Framework Launchpad.  They are working on this currently.  

 

I hope that explains the issue/difference and your right, its a little overwhelming to find what you need, but they are getting there.

So the developer's version of Pagelines I currently have is a completely different product than DMS Pagelines?  I am also getting a message to upgrade to v 2.4.3, ( I currently have v2.3.8).  But I don't see where I can do that.

 

Hopefully, it will make sense soon.

      Hi everyone,

      Hi there,
      I've got an issue with 3 websites built with DMS since I migrated them from http to https that I need help with please.
      When any changes are made - e.g. new posts added or existing posts amended - certain sections of the live site seem to break e.g. image headers hang and don't load (b/g on canvas section), sliders hang and don't load (Revslider), flipper section doesn't load.
      Logging in and then clicking 'Edit the site using DMS' seems to fix the problem. Often if I try to open up another browser window to edit the site / re publish I'm unable to as the page wont load / hangs while trying to load.
      Any ideas how to fix this? On a couple of the sites I've installed a caching plugin as I thought it might be a loading speed issue but it's still happening.

      I found this topic
      which talks about a similar issue I am having, but a little different. Hope someone can help me out.
      Best way to see the problem is to view http://cassclayton.com/ on Safari (Mac) compared to Firefox or Chrome. You will see the banner just under the fixed menubar has a gap between the menubar and top of the banner. Looking at Inspector, I found:

      <script> jQuery('.fixed-top-pusher').height( jQuery('.pl-fixed-top').height() ) </script>
      and indeed it seems the jquery is not always working consistently. For instance, if you simply refresh the page in Safari, it will loose the gap and all looks fine, so is it a browser cache issue that is interacting with the jquery? I do have W3 Total Cache installed. There must be a way to tell the code to make sure jquery is up and running and available to do it's majic?
      And perhaps there is just a better way to do this banner? Originally I tried several DMS sections and used the banner image as background, etc... Kept running into problems with resizing and the left/right parts of the image were getting chopped off. It is important the whole image show, so currently I just use a NextBox section with this code:
      <img src="[pl_site_url]/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/CassClayton-blues-tribute-banner.jpg" width="100%" />
      and it looks the way it should. Is there a better way to place a banner graphic under a fixed navbar and make sure the whole banner graphic displays regardless of screensize?

      So i want to use platform 5 and DMS sections on a single page, i am using a child theme with pinspro as my main theme and i activated platform 5, the only problem am having so far is the fixed option, my navbars are not aligning to their default size, and it will be great if platform 5 header and footer section will function, has anyone used this option, how can i make the best use of platform 5 and DMS on a site

      Hi,
      I desperately need to deactivate the responsive function on mobile for reasons. It looks so messy with the responsive look on mobile and not navigating or informative at all as it is. 
      I searched for solutions online and tries some of those that I found but nothing worked out. Also I found a previous post on this forum says that this theme pagelines DMS is not meant to be build to deactivate the responsive function... 
      Also tried with widget such as WPtouch to edit the mobile look a little more informative but as I am using "single page" theme on pagelines, the frontpage(main page) never appears on those app.
      Seems like not compatible?
      If there is no way to deactivate responsive function or I'll have to recreate another page just dedicated for a mobile page? or change the theme completely and build a page from scratch?
      I have been searching for this for two days already...
      Could anyone wise and kind out there, please help me?
