Custom LESS/CSS Area Not Active After Import of DMS Config File

Recommended Posts

atcdomainsolutions

I worked on a DMS template/design on one of my websites while testing things out. After I got things like I really wanted, I performed the export function and downloaded my templates, files, configurations, etc.  I selected all options to export (Global Settings, Post Types, etc).

I then went into another website I have, installed DMS, activated (Developer account) and got the usual welcome, etc.etc.

I then went, uploaded my exported configurations and everything appeared to copy over after loading the main template I was wanting to see.  Some images aren't showing up but that's no biggie.

My problem is that I had about 8-10 blocks of custom css code I added to the original design and this does not show on the Custom Less/Css area so I went to just copy it over from the other site into the block area for Custom Less/CSS but the field is not active on the new site.  I can click on "Custom Scripts" and that is active and will allow me to add data but the Custom Less/CSS field is not "active" and I can't click inside or add anything.

Did I do something wrong?

Actually, took advise from another thread on a totally different subject and disabled all plugins and then reactivated a few that I figured would NOT cause a conflict and not only did my custom css code appear but some images are now there and active/working. Will try to go through one by one now and update this post for anyone else who may have an issue with exporting and existing plugin conflicts.  I know I have a custom CSS plugin I have used so I'm betting that is the culprit.

Please let us know which one it is, so that others using it can take appropriate action.  Thanks.

Funny but I have gone in and activated, one by one, all plugins I had deactivated but can't duplicate the error. I will keep this in mind though since I will be doing a 3rd project with DMS in a couple of days and will download all plugins I use now to a new install/site and see what happens. Only way I can see determining what could cause it is to install and uninstall with one plugin installed at a time...haha. Lot of work but I'll do it since I'm very curious which plugin caused the problem!

Reactivating the plugins, one at a time, and refreshing should tell you which caused a problem.

Rob

Found the plugin...posted this for everyone as well but this is what it was:

Found out for sure that if you install or have the "Shortcodes Ultimate" plugin installed (version 3.9.5 is what I was using) or install it after starting a new site, it will cause the CSS Less box to crash. Started with this plugin when debugging and after deactivating and going back in, CSS Less was fine.

      Hi,
      I am hoping to figure out how I can get my PageLines Full Nav to display layered in front of a sticky footer element on my website - 3keymedia.com
      I would like the Full Nav to overlay the entire screen when opening the menu as you will see when opening on a desktop the footer of nav content is cropped by the sticky footer.

      Thanks

      Hi everyone, since Instagram had allowed to publish in different ratio formats (instead of only square ratio) the grams stripe has different heights. Can you tell me if i can fix it easily with some CSS?

      Hi guys!
      I have noticed that my primary sidebar becomes intermittently invisible when browsing through various blog articles on michaelkummer.com/blog.
      See:
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/z646sgoa3mfjl1j/Screenshot 2018-07-12 15.57.46.jpg?dl=0 and https://www.dropbox.com/s/vdledzzgginvwgv/Screenshot 2018-07-12 15.57.57.jpg?dl=0
      Upon refresh, the sidebar appears. I have been using the following CSS code to hide the sidebar on mobile without any issues.
      @media only screen and (max-width: 993px) {
      /* hide sidebars */
           .plsb {
              display: none !important;
          }
      }
      I tried to add the following CSS to force the sidebar to show on screens that are wider than 994 pixels but to no avail. Any clue what could be causing this issue?

      Hi guys!
      I am using the LESS/CSS Pagelines extension and tried to add the following code to make use of FontAwesome:
      a.c2a:before {
          content: "\f07a\00a0";
          font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Pro";
          Font-weight: 900;
          font-style: normal;
          font-weight: normal;
          text-decoration: inherit;
          padding-left: 4px;
      }

      The issue is that as soon as I have the CSS via the Custom Styling text box, Pagelines (or the extension) strips out the backslashes (\). As a result, I had to abandon the CSS/LESS extension and instead add all my CSS code to a separate .css file.
      Is there a fix or workaround for this?
      Thanks
      Michael

      Hello, I am having a problem similar to that experienced by Michael Kummer here. We have pages that show this automatic scrolling issue (examples here and here) and it is sufficiently annoying that we have seen customers bounce while trying to convert. Strangely, it only happens at specific resolutions, so it can be difficult to reproduce. In general we can only consistently reproduce it on a 4k resolution with a browser width between 1517 and 1536px.
      Thanks to Michael Kummer's help we were able to set the overflow-anchor property to none in the entire body, which fixed the issue as far as we can tell, but also obviously disabled scroll anchoring for the whole site. I tried applying it to the specific element that looked like it was being reloaded, which was the PL Meganav extension, but that was unsuccessful.
      Can anyone help us figure out which element or ID we can apply this property to, so that we can fix the scrolling issue but not disable scroll anchoring for the entire site?
      Thank you -
