Increasing Fixed Navigation Bar height

Recommended Posts

dnnyboy

Hi,

I wish to increase the height of the fixed Navbar as to accomodate a larger logo. I've been able to do this simply by adding this my custom CSS:

.navbar .plbrand img {
max-height: 80px;
}

However, I need the following content on my site to move down accordingly. Right now this basically just makes the navbar overlap the following content. I'm interested in figuring out if I can add some margin/padding to the navbar that will work regardless of what content follows.

The site is not yet live, however, this site can give you an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish: http://www.santacruzmah.org/

Thanks!

Hi there,

You can add {margin-bottom:50px;} etc to move everything down below the nav and keep it from moving up on all pages.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Thanks James.

I've tried this, but it doesn't seem to work. Where would you suggest I add it?

Instead of max-height, you could try min-height as this is a bit more stable.
