Changing Color of One Tab in Nav Bar Only

Recommended Posts

intermarketer

Hi there ... I tried to follow the instructions on this thread to change the default blue color (the "Free Demo" tab) in my WhiteHousePro nav bar to yellow, but no luck. The link to my site is here. Current code in my Custom CSS section is as follows:

body{}
	#menu-item-269 a{background:#E6D000}

. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance! :) kat.

`#nav ul #menu-item-269 a{background:#E6D000 url('')}` Try that instead. Thanks, Bryan

Hi, Bryan ... Thanks again for your ultra-fast response. Unfortunately, that did not resolve the issue. Do I have the right menu item number? Could that be the problem? Thanks, kat.

`#nav ul li.page-item-269 {background:#E6D000;}`

Hey, Adam ... That worked - thanks! I actually tweaked your code a bit, using an image instead of a background color and changing the font color. Now my dilemma is - when you're actually on the "Free Demo" page (i.e., current page item), the font is still black and therefore practically unreadable against the dark blue background. How can I change the font color back to white for just that particular instance? Thanks in advance, kat.

This is the selector that controls the active state `#nav .current_page_item a, #nav .current_page_item a:hover, #nav li a:active, #nav .current_page_ancestor` So something like this should work. `#nav ul li.page-item-269.current_page_item a ,#nav ul li.page-item-269.current_page_item a:hover,#nav ul li.page-item-269.current_page_item a:active,#nav ul li.page-item-269.current_page_item {background:#E6D000;}`
