Custom Post Type in Custom Page Template

Recommended Posts

Website: http://eastcoastwholesalers.net

I've followed these instructions here: http://www.pagelinestheme.com/150 to create a custom post type - incidentally I also needed a vendors section like the author used for illustration.

However, despite the fact that on the Framework drag & drop interface it shows the custom page template "vendor" and "vendor archive", it doesn't give me the option to use that page template on a page.

Subsequently I bought the WP-Types Viewer that he mentioned in the tutorial and implimented as explained here: http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/23206-views-and-types-custom-types-fields-compatibility/?p=135421

But still no dice.

The page type "vendors" as seen here should create a page at http://eastcoastwholesalers.net/vendor/ but it doesn't... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I've not used WP types before, but I've created a custom template using - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/customization/create-a-custom-page-template/ and it's appeared in the drop down when i create a static page.

I would say check the code generated inside the template that types created to see if it matched the code in the custom template example, if not try editing to fit and see if it appears in the drop down list.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.
