Full width bottom sidebar on category pages?

Recommended Posts

In Station Pro, how would I display the full width bottom sidebar on all category pages?

Can I get a link. I'm pretty sure it's possible, I believe setting a blog page and then adding the bottom sidebar to that would work. Otherwise it might be necessary to add some PHP to some files. Thanks, Bryan

Make sure this is checked: Theme Options > Footer Options > Show widgetized footer sidebars? Thanks, Bryan

That's checked... But doesn't that control the three widget footer that will show up on every page? I'm trying to get the full width bottom side bar on my category pages, currently the main or secondary sidebar shows up on them.

Tom you'd have to edit code, since there is no direct page editor screen you can use to active the sidebar. What theme are you using?

Station Pro... I'm willing to try and edit some code if you can point me in the right direction.

In footer.php you can see some commenting where the full width widget is controlled. You just need to change that first line to this: `<?php if((m_pagelines('full_width_widget', $pagelines_ID) || is_category()) && VPRO):?>`

Nice! Thank you both, worked perfect. Also had to add

.category #sidebar {display:none}
	.category #maincontent {width:960px;}

To the custom code to get rid of the main sidebar which was still showing up.

One thing to note, although not a big deal to me, the full width widget will no longer show up on regular pages when using this method.

Weird maybe the syntax of the conditional statement was slightly off.

Figured it out...

	<?php if((m_pagelines('full_width_widget', $pagelines_ID) || is_category()) && VPRO):?>
Needed to be...
	<?php if((m_pagelines('full_width_widget', $post->ID) || is_category()) && VPRO):?>

Works perfect now. Thanks again.
