Drop down menu falling BEHIND widget in sidebar

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The dropdown menu is falling beind my sidebar language selector widget (WPML Multilingual CMS).

It is most evident when you hover over the "exhibitor" tab to reveal the drop down menu:

Any ideas why this is?

Thank you

Could we have a link to your site please?

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Sorry guess I didn't paste it in:

(hovering over the "exhibitor" tab on the "abstract" page really illustrates the issue I mention in the original post)

Hi there,

Looking at your site this seems to be a z-index issue coming from the code set in the plugin used for the language selector. You can use css to reset this, changing the z-index of the language selector to 1. Screenshot - http://screencast.com/t/4MP6Bk7pPG

#lang_sel {
    z-index1;
}

Then the menus will go on top of the item rather than behind it.

If you've not used css before inside the framework, check out http://support.pagelines.me/docs/customization/custom-css/

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Brilliant, that fixed it instantly. Although I've worked a lot with  css I'm not familar with "z-index". I appreciate you taking the time to make a visual for me. Next time I run into an issue like this I'll be able to pin point it in firebug.

Thanks again!
