Hi Folks

I am trying to migrate a site from PlatformPro 1.3 to Framework 2 ATM and have encoutered a problem with qtranslate.

The site I am migrating is www.belmonthousestud.com and I have created a clone at another location. On the original site there are three language flags under the social icons. The CSS I used in the past for these is:

#qtranslate-chooser {
   position:relative;
   bottom:8px;
   right:-10px;
   list-style:none;
}
#qtranslate-chooser li {
   float:right;
   margin-right:12px;
   opacity:0.5;
}
#qtranslate-chooser li.active {
   -moz-box-shadow:0 0 3px 1px #000000;
   box-shadow:0 0 3px 1px #000000;
   opacity:1;
}
#qtranslate-chooser li:hover {
   opacity:1;
}

There was also some php code contained in the template.branding.php file (I know bad practice)

<?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode('image'); ?>

After a search on the forums I came across this recent thread but have failed to get it working:

http://www.pagelines.../?hl=qtranslate

What I have tried to do was add the php code to the customisation functions.php file, however I keep getting an error. I have also tried wrapping in div's as advised by Rob in the above.

Would appreciate some advice or assistance if anyone can help out.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Keith,

I've tried logging in, but it's redirecting me to a maintenance screen. Let us know when you've turned off maintenance mode and I'm able to get into the Dashboard.

Hi,

The flags are now there.

You have some erroneous code causing a rather odd shadowed border that needs fixing.

#qtranslate-chooser li.active {
   -moz-box-shadow:0 0 3px 1px #000000;
   box-shadow:0 0 3px 1px #000000;
   opacity:1;
}

I added

.mynewflags {margin-top: 20px; }

To position the flags below the social media icons.

This code worked in the PageLines Customize plugin's functions.php:

add_action('pagelines_branding_icons_end', 'mynewflags');
function mynewflags(){
?>
<div class="mynewflags">
<?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode('image'); ?>
</div>
<?php }

You'll see the class there, mentioned in my reply above, which let me set the positioning below your social media icons.

I see where the php code is.

I did an little messing and must have deleted the

.mynewflags {margin-top: 20px; }

can't spot it in the custom CSS section.

It goes at the end of the Dashboard > PageLines > Site Options > Custom Code section.  It's an important one, so please restore it.

Without it, you're likely to experience z-index issues, or problems where someone expects to click a social media link and ends up with a foreign language.

      Hi dear Pageline community,

      I have a multilingual website using the qtranslate plugin and pagelines pro. i created a child theme.
      the site is at christinabernier.com

      my problem is that the links from the features and the boxes will point to the default language of the site (which is french) so english speaking users are always forwarded back to the french page.

      here are exemples:
      http://christinabernier.com/en
      if you click on one the boxes you are directed to the french version...

      I read the following topic but it is not doing anything on my site... http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/22544-using-url-in-boxes-and-feature-with-qtranslate/?hl=qtranslate

      could you help?

      thank you

      Hello,

      I have a french/english website using Platform Pro and qtranslate.
      Everything works fine, except a huge point : how could I translate the boxes and the quicksliders ?

      Thank you very much for any help - I'm in a black hole.

      Kind regards,
      Yannick

      Hi,

      I'm using platform pro and qTranslate plugin. I'm translating all the posts but in one category, I only want to use one language, so I would like to hide the language flags, only for that category. Any idea of how can I do that?

      Thank you very much!

      Hi
      I need to make blog multilanguage. Is there any way to translate strings which are editable in admin, eg "

      Continue Reading Link Text"
      or footer text. I'm using qtranslate and his quicktags are not working with pagelines.
