navbar text color

Recommended Posts

megmedia

Hi, i want to change the standard nav bar text color to black cause i have changed the background color to white. I take a look with firebug in find how to change it, the problem is when i change the text color it also change the fixed navbar text color to black. My fixed navbar background is black, so i want my text white.

Is it possible to give me a hint on how to change the standard navbar text color only.

Thanks a lot

Hello megmedia

Could we see the code you have tried and please could you provide a link to your website please?

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Hi Martin and thanks for your fast answer. I cannot provide you a link to the website right now, my clients don't want to show it before the go live. if you really need to view the website i can create you an admin account.

here is the css i use to change the text color, like i said i only want to change the standard nav and not the fixed nav

.navbar .navline {
  font-size: 1.1em;
  font-weight:bold;
}
.navbar .navline > li > a {
    color: rgba(0, 0, 0,);
    display: block;
    float: none;
    line-height: 19px;
    padding: 9px 12px 10px;
    text-decoration: none;
    text-shadow: 0 0px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0);
}
.navbar .navline > li > a:hover {
    background-color: rgba (0,0,0);
    text-decoration: none;
}

Thanks

To target the fixed navbar have you tried using

.section-navbar .fixed-top {your css;}

Both the navbar and the fixed navbar will use the same css so you'll need to use the fixed top class to separate the two.

Hi, try this and change nothing

.section-navbar .fixed-top{
    color: rgba(255, 255, 255);
    display: block;
    float: none;
    line-height: 19px;
    padding: 9px 12px 10px;
    text-decoration: none;
    text-shadow: 0 0px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0);
}

Thanks

The only other thing I can think of would be to change the background color of the fixed navbar in the tab in site options>navbar. If the background to the fixed nav is different from the main navbar they'll be using a different class. You can then use that class in the css to target the text.

For example if you changed the fixed nav to black

.navbar.pl-color-black-trans li a {color: blue !important;}

The above worked on my text install if I have both navbars set to different colors.

Otherwise you could look into a plugin like crackbar which would allow you to set the options via an admin panel http://www.pagelines.com/store/sections/crackbar/

It simply seems that having the navbar on the site twice (once cloned) doesn't let me create custom code for one of them. I'd recommend replacing the lower of the two navbars with Nav Classic.

Also, rgba (0,0,0) is not proper code.  Try rgb (0,0,0) Note: rgba reflects code for a transparency.
