adding Schema markup

Recommended Posts

miratrix

Hi,

I want to add schema logo markup (see example). Can someone tell me where I can find the file which includes the div for the logo. I'm using the branding plugin but it looks as if it pulls it from somewhere else.

<div itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Organization">
  <a itemprop="url" href="http://www.example.com/">Home</a>
  <img itemprop="logo" src="http://www.example.com/logo.png" />
</div>

Hi,

If you wish to make these changes I recommend you use a hook, see our hooks doc for assistance - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/customization/hooks/

We do not recommend nor support changes to the core code.

Please search our forums, before posting!

I just bought the hooks plugin. Do you know what hook it is I need to edit?

Hi there,

If you install the actionmap plugin an activate it will show you where all the hooks are on your page. Then you'll be able to find the one closest to the area you want to insert the logo into.

Actionmap - http://www.pagelines.com/store/plugins/pagelines-action-map/

Instructions on actionmap - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/plugins/action-map/

Hooks list - http://api.pagelines.com/hooks

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

I'm presuming you're trying to replace the branding image.  You seem to be using the Business Branding section.

Try pagelines_outer_business-branding.

OK. I've did that and managed to get it to display but it's not carrying over the styling and doesn't stay in the same place. Do I need to create an additional css for this?

You probably do.

Things added by hook do not automatically inherit CSS from the hook.  The function or code should always have unique classes and/or IDs associated with it to ensure that you can apply styling.

Look throughout this forum and pretty much every example of hooks and code for them show classes added.

Add something like <div class="myuniquebrand">your code</div> to wrap things up, then apply CSS to .myuniquebrand
