Setting new language

Recommended Posts

patrman

Hi,

I run Wordpress in Czech Language. I would like to translate some items in PLines into Czech.

I downloaded the Pagelines.pot file and tranlated some label into Czech (like: previous entrries, next entries) and then I uploded the pagelines-cs_CZ.mo and pagelines-cs_CZ.po files into the folder www/wp-content/themes/pagelines/language.

However, the two labes i tranlated are still in English. Do I have to set something else?

My website is www.JanPatrman.cz

Translating these items is slightly different as they are Wordpress Core rather than Pagelines - there is a support topic on Wordpress Support relating to this  http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-translate-post-navigation-links

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Can you provide a link to the site you're working on, and please list the steps you have taken?

Thanks.

I'm informed that your naming convention for the files is incorrect.

For example, for German, you'd name it de_DE.mo  not pagelines-cs_de_DE.mo.  That will not work.

Additionally, please use the PageLines Customize plugin (found in Dashboard > PageLines > Store > Plugins > Top Free).  There, you'll want to create a subfolder named languages.  It is in that folder where you place your customized language files, as described in our documentation.

Thank you for your response.

I want to have a few plugins installed. Would it be possible for our to log in my web page and check what is wrong. Because I am sure I have done everything corectlly.
