Many code errors via theme check

HI,

 

The developer of the Theme Check plugin is actually one of our developers. Therefore, I can only assume that these errors or most of them are due to PageLines being a theme framework and not simply a theme.

Also, a lof the those errors are related to LESS CSS, which Wordpress doesn't support and all the deprecated error messages are all referencing the includes/deprecated.php file.

 

However, I will bring this to the attention of Simon and see what he says.

 

Also, in future can you please refrain from posting so much information, if you have a lot of code etc.. be sure to use our pastie service.

Firstly thanks for using my theme check plugin. Let me just quote from the plugin description:

The theme check plugin is an easy way to test your theme and make sure it's up to spec with the latest theme review standards. With it, you can run all the same automated testing tools on your theme that WordPress.org uses for theme submissions.

 

So this plugin is used to test themes before they are submitted to the wordpress.org themes repository.

 

The theme you tested is the retail version which is not hosted on wordpress nor will it be so it does not have to pass any tests.

 

The free version of PageLines however IS hosted on the repository and does pass the tests.

As I understand it, the Beta testing is subject to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which you signed on February 27th, 2013.  Subsequently, in another topic, you revealed that you had shown proprietary, confidential trade secrets to which you were privy as a result of signing the NDA to a client of yours, violating that agreement. 

 

Consequentially, your beta privileges have been suspended, indefinitely, however, all your support and products related to your account remain fully active and intact.

 

I regret that this occurred, but unfortunately, we are required, as any company is, to protect our intellectual property and preserve our product lines.  I'm sure you fully understand the importance of protecting any company's intellectual property, and equally understand the risk anyone takes in violating those rights and contractual agreements they've signed.

 

Should you need further support, please feel free to open a topic or use our Live Chat, but at this time, we're unable to reactivate Beta Testing.

I am the only person at my company and I have no trade secrets which I am privy to. If I signed something that disqualified me them send it and I will resign it again that does not disqualify me.

 

I just paid another $19.00 for the plus which I do not use any of the products, I paid for it to watch the online training and now I cannot watch them. I only paid it to get the beta. When the full version is released will I get it for free or that const me money also?

To be clear, the $19 for Plus does not include beta privileges as you suggested earlier.

 

We cannot resubmit the agreement or have you re-sign it.

 

The provision you broke however, is here:

3 Proprietary Rights

( b )

NonDisclosure to Third Parties.

Except as required by Tester’s Duties, Tester shall not, at any time now or in

the future, directly or indirectly, use, publish, disseminate or otherwise disclose any Confidential Information,

Concepts, or Ideas to any third party without the prior written consent of the Company which consent may

be denied in each instance and all of the same, together with publication rights, shall belong exclusively to the

Company.

 

You're perfectly free to use the current version of PageLines Framework Developer edition, but not the Beta versions, having disclosed, by your own statements, that you showed it to someone.  We cannot reinstate this special privilege which is not given to all customers.

 

I deeply regret, but this decision is final.

2nd does the package I paid for include all updates for life?

As per the pricing page:

 

 

When you purchase the PageLines Framework, all minor-release updates to the Framework are free for 1 Year.

For example, if you have version 2.0, then all 2.X updates (including bug-fix and minor feature updates) will be free for 1 year.

Upgrades to the next major release of the Framework (i.e. PageLines 3.0) do include an upgrade cost, regardless of whether you are in the standard 1 year timeline.

PageLines Plus offers a way to ensure that you are not paying for upgrades (minor or major) at any time.

Yes, if you continue to pay for the recurring Plus membership then your upgrade to the next major version of Pagelines will be free of charge.

 

Otherwise if you cancelled the Plus membership you'd be required to pay for an upgrade from the current version to the next major edition.
