Want to add padding for alignment with other widgets

Recommended Posts

Hi Ryan,

Currently, the images floats and occupy almost entire width of the sidebar. How can I add padding? Also, is there any way to show thumbmail images in smaller size of my choice apart from adding to Boxes? Suppose I want to show 150x150 image into 120x120. Is it possible? If not, can you add the feature pls.

Also, I want to add widget title for the section i added to the sidebar. You can check my site, the section is live. how can I add it?

Here is the sidebar,..the portion marked with yellow is extra. I want the section to fall in-line with other widgets.

One alignment issue noted with the plugin...open the attached image and see the overlayed box is shifted 1 pixel left (as pointed out by arrow in Red)

So theres 4 questions

  1. I want to add widget title for the section i added to the sidebar.
  2. show thumbmail images in smaller size of my choice (ie 150 to 1250px)

  3. alignment issue

  4. increase padding

I've noted alignment issues to bugs,

for 2) thumbnail size do you mean you want to reduce the size of the image the section is loading or make the boxes smaller?

for 1) widget title, this is not a widget and therefore has no widget title. you could add a blank widget with a title on top of it and then use css to reduce any gaps?

for 4) this *should* be easy by changing the padding div, can you send a link to your site so i can try it?

Your site isnt publicly viewable in your profile, can you please post it here.

to clarify do you

  1. Want t make the boxes smaller so it appears at 300px on the page
  2. it already showing at 300px but the original image is 335 so you want to reduce this to save some bandwidth

hey, i just released a version (1.0.5) that fixes the jitter bug, does this also solve your alignment issue?

Can you get back to me with the above so i can help you with your other problem? thanks.

The one extra pixel issue still there. Also, when I place 300px wide image, it automatically stretches to 335 PX. Let me know how to get rid of it.

I just want to show 300px image and how to add padding for proper alignment

I have sent my site name to your email ID. Please look into..

The section streches to fill the area. if it didnt then you would have to make every image the exact right size which would break compatibility with everything but boxes, you'd have to recalculate and upload image sizes every time you changed padding or width etc, very user unfriendly.

In your case i believe your padding and image size issues are the same (although 300px would be too big for your area). Use this code (in custom css) to alter padding, and adjust to your requirements.

#featured-picture-boxes .plgrid-pad {padding: 0 15px 0 14px}

(padding numbers are top right bottom left)

As for the 1 pixel misalignment i dont see this. do you also see it on http://demo.ryanvarley.co.uk/featured-picture-boxes? If so which browser are you using, what version is it and what operating system are you on?

Thanks

Which shading colors and settings you're using in demo. Default theme doesn't give me what is shown in demo.

By default the boxes use your theme colour and apply an opacity to it. The color in the demo is #3a8dab

Hi, I installed your Featured Picture Box section, found the config area in the 'page Options', but I can't see how I apply this to boxes, there doesn't appear to be anything in the boxes area, and there is no WP menu item for Featured Picture Boxes. How do I do this? Urgent advice appreciated as I have to get some boxes running with a hover tonight!

Hi there - first of all I guess I should ask how / where I should post my question as there doesn't seem to be a 'place' for it.  It concerns adjusting the size for the Featured Picture Box section which I just purchased. I contacted the developer Ryan Varley who suggested I should go to (http://www.pagelines.com/forum/forum/68-store-products/) to post my question so that it can help other people. However there is no option to place a question for Ryan Varley sections and under the Pagelines section there is no option for Featured Picture Boxes.

I would like to resize the boxes as my understanding is that they change dynamically depending on the size of the container they are in. So for example if i have 3 boxes they will be much larger than having 4 boxes in a row. Ryan said to change the padding via css but after looking at the page with the developer tools in Chrome I have no idea how to do this. I have selected and changed padding values for everything I can find relating to the boxes on the page but only seem to be able to chop off the top/bottom of the box or change the navigation menu placement ! I have temporarily solved the problem by just placing 4 boxes on the row but I would like to have only 3 so any help would of course be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks and regards,
      Richard
