Left margin on content is cleared

This is a new site that I just updated to the latest PageLines version. Prior to that, I believe that all left margines were in line with the header and footer. However, Jigoshop product pages display perfectly.

Something has changed, but I cannot determine what. Might you have an idea?

Thanks,

Actually, it is not just the left margin, but both left and right margins

Hi,

Can you disable all non-PageLines plugins, temporarily remove all custom CSS/scripts and see if this resolves your issue.

If it doesn't can you enable PageLines debug mode by going to PageLines > Site Options > Advanced. Also, can you provide screenshots of what sections you have active on:

• PageLines > Drag & Drop > Page Template Area > Template | Default

• PageLines > Drag & Drop > Content Area > Template | Deafault

Please take screenshots of the above so we can see what sections you have active, because from what I can see on your pages the Content Sections HTML/CSS is missing which is causing your issue.

==> Can you disable all non-PageLines plugins

This was a surprise, but the offending plugin is Jigoshop. No matter what the combination or applied order of other plugins, when Jigoshop is activated, it breaks. This behavior started right after I applied the latest Pagelines update.

I suspect that because Jigo is a different system, with its own CSS elements, they've stripped out padding and margins.

Do you have Firebug for Firefox or use Chrome's Inspection Tool?

With either of those, you can find the CSS elements and adjust (in sandbox) to align your content to the left, flush with the left edge of the header.

Once happy with the test results, just copy the sandbox code to Dashboard > PageLines >Site Options > Custom Code and you'll be a happy website owner!

Well, yes, I can do this in the short run, but I purchased Pagelines to work with Jigoshop seamlessly. I also installed the Jigoshop for Pagelines plugin (1.47), which is supposed to enforce compatibility, as the code says: "Refines and configures the popular Jigoshop plugin for seamless integration into PageLines."

As I said earlier, the problem didn't occur until I installed the latest update to Pagelines, so I expect something was added or subtracted that caused the failure.

Can this be submitted as a bug request? Or perhaps it should be a bug request for Jigoshop for Pagelines plugin?

I've alerted the developers.  We may simply need an update.  Apologies for the inconvenience.

Can you please enable JigoShop plugin plus the PageLines JIgoShop plugin and then also enable PageLines debug mode, once you have completed these instructions, reply here and we can then investigate further.

Hi Pat

I have installed the latest version of jigoshop and pagelines and all my store items are staying within the content area. Are you using the latest versions of each? My page - http://screencast.com/t/uWpr6ZA6f3iw

If you have any css on the site, where is it being added? custom code box, child theme or customize etc?

Also, if you could go into Pagelines>site options>advanced and check the debug tab for us so we can see whats happening behind the scenes.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Debug is already on. Yes, the site is brand new and has no custom CSS anywhere. No code has been touched. The bad display started right after I updated the Pagelines theme to the latest version; before that it worked perfectly. I made no other changes to the site after the theme update.

As I said earlier, the store items are OK, as you note. It is Pages and Posts and their respective right columns that don't display correctly.

Ok, I'm trying to recreate your setup, are you using full width or fixed width in the layout mode, and which layout handling, responsive pixel/% or static?

I created a user "passwords removed by admin" for you to take a direct look at the back end. After you are done, I will delete your user record.

Although visible, the site is not "live" yet.

Hi Pat

Ok I've logged in and taken a good look. From what I can see I agree with Danny, but I can't see where it is coming from. On the non-jigo pages you're missing the css for the content/content-pad

See http://screencast.com/t/IH7QZmWA & http://screencast.com/t/jcycWiuDP78W

Now this could either be down to a plugin (which even though inactive could be affecting the site) or due ot a corruption in one of the core files. My first bet would be to resinstall a fresh version of pagelines via a new zip downloaded from your launchpad account - http://www.pagelines.com/launchpad/ if that doesn't work then try deleting the third party plugins one by one to see if any of them has a direct effect on the page layout.

I've checked your debug informaton, there's nothing in there that would cause this type of layout issue.

I delete theme files from Appearance/Themes, then downloaded and reinstalled version 2.4.2 from scratch. No change.

When I deactivate ALL plugins, display of Pages is CORRECT. When I add back in the Jigoshop plugin, it BREAKS. However, I will point out again that this was not the case with Pagelines 2.4.1.

There obviously is a conflict with Jigoshop and Pagelines. When I activate the Jigoshop for Pagelines plugin, it does not correct the issue either.

So, short of hacking some code, which I don't want to do, there is no resolution. If you have some CSS code that I can add into Pagelines, I could do that, but the ultimate fix will be to issue an update to the "Jigoshop for Pagelines." plugin to enforce compatiblity.

Hi Pat

It's defiently something to do with the jigoshop plugin, which is strange as I've checked both our versions and they're the same. The pagelines integration on it's own doesn't seem to change the text alignment on it's own, but activating the main jigo plugin definetly does. I will report this to a developer and see what they suggest. As you've already reuploaded the framework, in the meantime I would say install a fresh version of jigoshop and upload that to see if there was a corruption in the current one.

For the time being until we can work out exactly what's happening the below can be used/adjusted to fix.

.page-template-default #dynamic-content {
    margin-left4%;
    margin-right0;
}

I deleted Jigoshop plugin and reinstalled from wordpress.org. No change. The css below works on pages, but not on the Search Page.

This issue can not be resolved by CSS, the issue you have is that you're missing important HTML/CSS from your pages. Can you enable PageLines debug mode again please, so I can try to recreate your issue.

      Hi,
      I am hoping to figure out how I can get my PageLines Full Nav to display layered in front of a sticky footer element on my website - 3keymedia.com
      I would like the Full Nav to overlay the entire screen when opening the menu as you will see when opening on a desktop the footer of nav content is cropped by the sticky footer.

      Thanks

      Hi everyone, since Instagram had allowed to publish in different ratio formats (instead of only square ratio) the grams stripe has different heights. Can you tell me if i can fix it easily with some CSS?

      Hi guys!
      I have noticed that my primary sidebar becomes intermittently invisible when browsing through various blog articles on michaelkummer.com/blog.
      See:
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/z646sgoa3mfjl1j/Screenshot 2018-07-12 15.57.46.jpg?dl=0 and https://www.dropbox.com/s/vdledzzgginvwgv/Screenshot 2018-07-12 15.57.57.jpg?dl=0
      Upon refresh, the sidebar appears. I have been using the following CSS code to hide the sidebar on mobile without any issues.
      @media only screen and (max-width: 993px) {
      /* hide sidebars */
           .plsb {
              display: none !important;
          }
      }
      I tried to add the following CSS to force the sidebar to show on screens that are wider than 994 pixels but to no avail. Any clue what could be causing this issue?

      Hi guys!
      I am using the LESS/CSS Pagelines extension and tried to add the following code to make use of FontAwesome:
      a.c2a:before {
          content: "\f07a\00a0";
          font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Pro";
          Font-weight: 900;
          font-style: normal;
          font-weight: normal;
          text-decoration: inherit;
          padding-left: 4px;
      }

      The issue is that as soon as I have the CSS via the Custom Styling text box, Pagelines (or the extension) strips out the backslashes (\). As a result, I had to abandon the CSS/LESS extension and instead add all my CSS code to a separate .css file.
      Is there a fix or workaround for this?
      Thanks
      Michael

      Hello, I am having a problem similar to that experienced by Michael Kummer here. We have pages that show this automatic scrolling issue (examples here and here) and it is sufficiently annoying that we have seen customers bounce while trying to convert. Strangely, it only happens at specific resolutions, so it can be difficult to reproduce. In general we can only consistently reproduce it on a 4k resolution with a browser width between 1517 and 1536px.
      Thanks to Michael Kummer's help we were able to set the overflow-anchor property to none in the entire body, which fixed the issue as far as we can tell, but also obviously disabled scroll anchoring for the whole site. I tried applying it to the specific element that looked like it was being reloaded, which was the PL Meganav extension, but that was unsuccessful.
      Can anyone help us figure out which element or ID we can apply this property to, so that we can fix the scrolling issue but not disable scroll anchoring for the entire site?
      Thank you -
