Modern Tribes Events Calendar Pro and Pagelines

Recommended Posts

john7626

When using Modern Tribes Events Calendar Pro and the add-on Community I am unable to modify the Page Setup options so that the presented page reflects the desired appearance. Danny, from Pagelines LIve Chat, directed me here as there apparently needs to be some code written to address the issue. The url is jfspencer.staging.wpengine.com. I have submitted login credentials to [email protected] and Martin and Danny were able to find that information. If you need it again I can send it. The relevant pages are /events and /events/community/add. When you edit those pages the template that shows up is template 3, but the plugin has its own templates that are being used and access to Page Setup options is unavailable. Please let me know of any additional information you need. Thanks.

HI,

From what I understand you wish to be able to change the layout etc.. for your events archive page. Seeing as this plugin creates a custom post type called events (from what I can see) in order to add this archive to the Page Options settings page so that you can change the layout, show/hide sections etc.. You will need to use the following filter, add this filter to your child themes functions.php file and in the code replace the word "pizza" with your custom post types name. In this case, try the word events.

Please bear in mind that due to this plugin being a premium plugin, the code has not been tested and may not be compatibile with the plugin.

Danny,

Thanks for the response. I have been out of office all morning. Will try that and see what comes of it.

Danny,

I tried your suggestion with several different custom post type names, but unfortunately no change. However, after some more research and other experiments I found a reasonable work around that gets me some of what I want. If someone else needs info, it can be found on the Modern Tribe pro forum and it has to do with setting the default template up the way you want your Events Calendar Pro page to look as that it where ECP draws its appearance from. It doesn't give me the level of control I want exactly, but it works. Because of time limitations I am going to use it, however, someday, after some intense studying of PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, theming, hooks, filters, etc. (just some light reading) I will return to come up with a more satisfactory answer. I really appreciate your help and all the help from Catrina, Martin and James. Like I told James, the customer support I have experienced has been tremendous. Thanks.
