I'm wondering how hard it would be to create a page (member login) similar to LaunchPad?

 

My client wants to sell products and provide downloadable PDFs to select people with specific memberships.

 

I'm wondering if any plugins an be adapted to do this?

Pagelines uses Amember - http://www.amember.com/p/ to handle memberships. But I've seen lots of pagelines clients using S2 member on their sites to set up that type of members area for selling member only products - http://www.s2member.com/

 

Most plugins will give you some form of login page, you could style it with css to be similar to launchpad.
