BrandNav - Drop downs (links that no longer exist)

Recommended Posts

Keith Vaugh

Hi Folks

I am using BrandNav, have enabled drop down nav in the site options and in the relevant page have added the menu required (which is defined with two pages)

My problem is that the drop down is displaying 4 pages, two of which have been completely deleted.

I tried changing the menu in the page settings however this has no affect. It keeps displaying the same 4 pages.

Any suggestions or has anyone ever encountered this before. The only thing that I have installed is Simple CSS plugin which is controlling the colours here.

Hi Keith

Check your custom menu options in appearance>menus, if you've created a custom menu previously and added those pages then they won't be removed when the pages are deleted. You'll need to remove them manually from the menu panel by deleting inside that appearance>menus panel.

Let us know if that's the cause of if you need further assistance.

Thanks James. Had tried deleting from the menu, with no success. Then I tried to assign a different menu in the page, that didn't work and as a last resort I deleted the menu and recreated it with only the two pages required. None of these have worked. I am thinking that I might have to delete the Simple CSS plugin next. It's the only other thing I can think of that is causing the problem.

Hi Keith, that's strange... Do you have a cache plugin active on the site? Anything which might be showing previous results? What's the site url.

Don't have a cache plugin installed. Even emptied all my caches just incase there was something there. The URL and details are in the PM from last week, if you still have great, if not I'll bounce it over again.

Hi Danny.

Site is not live yet while I continue with the development. If you PM me I can pop over its details.

Send me a PM, with the sites details and also enable PL debug mode - PageLines > Site Options > Advanced.

From what I can see the menu items you wished to remove was LetterPress and WebDesign, I have just removed these items and saved the menu. They're no longer there.

You probably removed them but never saved the menu.

Spot on Danny. I am sure I saved it, but you never know. Thanks for the assistance.
