tachora 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2013 I have been using pagelines for several years now. The first version I got makes my website work perfect on IE. However, I just discovered that with the business edition all the websites I've made do not display correctly on IE, the font, the layout, the images, everything shows wrong. So I went aheand and checkmarked the option to Include Google IE Compatibility Script, but now when I try to test the sites on IE, the window becomes unresponsive on all of them, the websites that are showing issues are: http://amybscher-author.com/ http://www.delreyoaksseniors.com/ http://worldofwidows.com/ http://littledarlingphoto.com/ http://www.twolittlebirds.net/ Please help!!! James B 436 Report post Posted April 27, 2013 Hi there, I've checked your sites in browserstack using IE and they seem to be displaying ok. Which version of IE are you using? I've tested the links on each site and they seem to be working. When you say it goes unresponsive do you mean like the screen freezes and you can't go anywhere on the site? Are you viewing the site with compatability mode turned on in the browser? This has been known to cause some layout issues if left on. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues. For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting. tachora 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2013 Thank you so much for your quick reply. I checked them in browserstack as well, only amybscher-author.com and littledarlingphoto.com display correctly on IE 8, all the other ones look wrong even in that version. On IE7 and lower all of them look wrong. The compatibility mode makes them look a bit better (Thank you!) but still I see that the width of the main container and bottom link colors in delreyoaksseniors.com are wrong. I need to check how the others look (I ran out of browserstack minutes) but I had checked on Kinkos computers and they all displayed incorrectly in what I beleive is IE7. And yes, when I check the option to Include Google IE Compatibility Script, the IE window says "Not responding".
Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted April 28, 2013 Hi, The Google IE Compatibility script only allows transparent .png work and fixes a few HTML and CSS issues, which as far as I know should make the browser crash. Your browser crashing could be caused by add-ons/extensions for your browser or plugins you have installed on your site. I recommend disabling all non-PageLines plugins and see if this resolves the issue. However, please beware that we do not provide support for Internet Explorer 7. Please search our forums, before posting!
tachora 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2013 Thanks for the help and info...I found that all my sites work better without the compatibility script, I hadn't realized how old IE7 is! pretty surprised that the few PCs I found only have IE7 or older
