Image map on Blog Page (home page)

Recommended Posts

cmgassist

I can't find a built in tool or plugin that will allow me to...

On my Blog Page (home page) display an image map.

And to do it in two steps...

1. a small picture of the top few inches of the full image map (because it is too big and I want them to click on it to open up the full map).

2. Then to display the full image map (I can't find a tool or plugin that will allow me to post my image map code.). Because it is a blog page not a regular HTML page.

There must be some tool or plugin that allows HTML on the Blog Page (home page) and even better if it could click and open up and second image (the full size image map).

My site is www.CMGassist.com

Help please.

Hi there

If you create an image map in something like photoshop and splice it up, you'll be able to save as html. You can then enter the html code into the main content area of a page or into a contentbox (free downloadable section from the store).

I don't know of any plugins which will achieve the effect you're looking for unfortunately, opening the image to reveal the full map, I would image they'd use jquery to achieve that effect. You could try searching for something to the effect of image reveal or image zoom.

Otherwise you could look into using the css animate property to change the width of the image on hover so the image expands.

I just purchased the Hooker Plugin on the Page Lines site to hopefully accomplish this... and the only option I had was to download the file (not directly install it). So, I downloaded it and now can't figure out how to install it. I can't find any information on the Page Lines site about how to manually install a plugin. I've looked all over. Kind of frustrating... such a basic How To.

I see now I COULD have purchased the Hooker Plugin from within my Page Lines Admin. But I didn't know that. If it is not good to purchase such plugins on the Page Lines site instead of in your Admin pannel, then why is it offered there... and without installation instructions?

Help please!

Hi there,

You can use both options, full instructions can be found here - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/pagelines-store/store-overview/

Our main support documents site is here - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/ and accessed from the main pagelines menu in the everything else tab.

I finally found the answer to installing the PageLines plugin manually. I install it using the standard Wordpress plugin install method/tool in Wordpress. I thought I had to install via the PageLines part of Wordpress since that is the typical way to purchase and install a plugin.

My problem was I purchased on the PageLines site instead of inside the PageLines Admin Store.

After I purchased the plugin at the PageLines site, the normal way to buy and install no longer worked. Going to the PageLines Admin Store required me to purchase the plugin again in order to install it from there.

In desperation I tried to install via the standard Wordpress plugins install. It worked. It would be nice if there were directions as to how to install when purchasing from the PageLines web site.

Thanks!

Hi there,

If you purchased via the pagelines.com site you'll still be able to purchase inside your site through the store admin panel. However, you'll need to make sure you're logged in via Pagelines>dashboard>account. Once you've logged in there anything you've purchased previously will be available in Pagelines>store to install directly into the site. Once you've logged in the account tab, the purchase button in the store will change to an install button.

I'm afraid that was not true for me. After purchasing on the PageLines site and then going to the PageLines Store inside my Admin account, it wanted me to pay again to get that plugin and took me to PayPal. I did this several times (ie. pages totally refreshed) and got the same result every time.

I finally, in frustration, tried to install via the standard Wordpress plugin install. That worked.

It would have been nice to be able to have some sort of directions as to how to install when I purchased from the PageLines site!!

There are instructions on how to install on the PageLines.com/store page. When you goto Hooker and click the download button, a popup will appear with instructions on how to install, these instructions are below.

First thing you will need to do, is to make sure that you're logged in on your website via:

Wordpress Admin Dashboard > PageLines > Dashboard > Your Account.

Once you have entered your PageLines username and password, you should receive a message saying "Successfully connected to PageLines...". Now goto PageLines > Store and locate the product you have purchased and the purchase button should now be replaced with an install button.

I'm telling you that was not my experience. I purchased on the PageLines site and couldn't find install instructions. So, I went to my PageLines Admin and the Store. the Hooker button remained a purchase button and never would change to an install button. I was stuck. I eventually tried the standard Wordpress install and that worked. I just felt I was taking a risk going that rout since instructions were that the Hooker button would turn to an install button... but never did.

All purchased items from the PageLines store, should be installed via your Wordpress installation with PageLines Framework as the active theme. This is the recommend and simplest method of installing sections, plugins and themes.

I recommend you use this method from now.

Is the issue now resolved.

      Hello,
I apologize for the trivial question, but I can not deal with it. How do I turn off the display of a distinctive image on the page? (I have to add it because I use plugins that use it), but as I display the page, I do not want it to be visible (and appears above the subject.).
Probably a cliché but I can not deal with it. Therefore, a request for help.
      Regards

I have added a Lax section on the footer of this site: http://www.ics-law.org.php72-38.lan3-1.websitetestlink.com/ but the background image is not displaying. When I first add the image it appears in the background, but then after saving and reloading it is gone even though the thumbnail indicates it's still there. Screenshot attached.
      Any suggestions?

I'm trying to add a Careers page to a site to display job openings. The plan is to create a Post using a subcategory 'Careers' and then display those on the page. All of the post sections in PL seem to include images and there's no obvious way to remove them or include an excerpt from the post.
      Any suggestions?

      Hello,
Shouldn't the image PL5 component be using the srcset/picture css directives to pick the correct size for an image? or it does already and I don't know how to use it? Thank you for any advice or enlightenment.
