LESS / CSS Error "expected color value"

Recommended Posts

Hi, i got a nasty little error and a yellow sign that keeps telling me:

PageLines Sections LESS/CSS error.
expected color value: failed at `color: fadeout(@headerHeadingColor, 70%);` line: 2932

All plugins are deacitvated.

It happens after installing, testing and erasing a plugin to display fullscreen background images.

Any ideas what to do?

Hi there, if you're using LESS I think you need to specify the color first.

So:

@color: #4D926F; - sets the color, then the below css uses that color value in the code.

#header {
color: @color;
}

Check you've set a color value for the color first. For more info see - http://lesscss.org/

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

The problem is - i have not changed any LESS Rules!

I just reinstalled Pagelines Framwork.

When i installed the background plugin it said incompatible with you current theme.

since that the yellow sign bugs me.

now it has changed to:

PageLines Sections LESS/CSS error.
parse error: unclosed block

Sorry Danny,

the plugin was Background Manager.

update: i made a new section and i think it's a parse error because of an unclosed tag

Thanks, Peter

 Translations aren't really my forte, so I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I can speak to one of our developers and see if they know the reason, as soon as I have more information. I will reply here.

      Where would I go to fix this?

      DMS Less System encountered an error
      /* LESS PARSE ERROR in your Custom CSS: parse error: failed at `media = "all"` line: 1025 */

      This is the only code I have added to pagelines.

      /*remove date in hover boxes */
      .date.time.published.updated.sc { display:none}   .the-media-html p {     margin: 0; }     /*remove sideoffer from mobile */ @media all and (max-width: 970px) { #sideoffer { display:none; } }   /*stop scroll bar in popup window */ .modal-body {overflow-y: none !important;}

      Hello Pagelines-Team,

      I always get this warning in my web inspector:

      Invalid CSS property declaration at: *

      I get the message on every pagelines website I design.

      How can I fix this? (I don't think that it causes problems, but maybe it would be good to fix it!?)

      Thank you for your help!

      Petra
