Trying to use "Multiple Sidebars" plugin

Recommended Posts

I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to get this plugin working.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multiple-sidebars/installation/

I've been using the "Display Widgets"plugin, which has been working great, but I have too many pages and too many widgets that the "Multiple Sidebars" plugin is what I need.

I've been able to install it, but can't get it to display. I get lost when trying to add code to the sidebars.php since it's not as simple as just cut/paste.  I think I may also have an issue because I it's not showing up in the "drag n drop" area of Pagelines (which may be why it's not displaying.)

Thanks for any help, I really hope to get this working.

Hi there, pagelines isn't like an ordinary wordpress theme so I'm not sure that plugin would work. Also we advise against making any edits to your core files as they are wiped out on each update.

You can make custom sidebars inside pagelines. Check out - http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/How_to_Add_Custom_Sidebars obviously you'll still only have the sb1 and sb2 containers, so you'd have to put the all the sidebars you create inside either of them and use the page meta settings to choose which ones display/hide.

So it would be like you did with the 'display widgets' plugin but you'd be choosing sidebars.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.
