Unable to Import Pagelines .dat files

Recommended Posts

When I try to import my pagelines settings (.dat  file) I get the following error.

There was an error with import. Please make sure you are using the correct file.

doing some searches it sounds like it could be a server side issue? is it not uploading? but the error makes it sound like the file type is incorrect?

Hi Chris

We spoke about this in live since you posted this, we'll leave this thread open so you can follow up if needed once you've dealt with the php.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

I'm migrating a client's dev site (http://haco4.convertwith.me) hosted on Hostgator to their soon-to-be live site (http://haco.us.com) on Media Temple DV.
The problem I'm having is that the file I'm importing into the new site (using DMS's import config utility) brings everything over EXCEPT the page templates. I thought it might be because the export config file didn't have them in it but after checking it I can see they're there. (here is a copy on Google Drive: http://goo.gl/srGrjF).
I can't figure this out... can someone help me? I need this site to go live this weekend so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Okay, I am trying to move a site to its permanent home.
      Here's the temporary site.
I moved the files, database, and downloaded the JSON file from the temp site.
      I get this:

I created a dummy site to design my website. Once I got it close to the way I wanted it, I used the import/export function to get the settings from the dummy site to the real site. Everything worked great except for two issues.
      1) The custom CSS in the DMS editor transferred over, which is great. However, I am unable to make any changes to that custom css. In fact, I even tried to temporarily remove all custom css (saving in a text editor), published with no custom css in the DMS editor, but when I refresh the site, all of the original custom CSS comes back. I have tried to edit, delete, change, remove custom css--no matter what I do, all custom css stays the same way it was when I imported it. I am publishing after I make change. I tried flushing the caches...Not sure what else to do.
      2) When I load my imported templates onto various pages, they work great for a little while, then after a few refreshes, the site seems to decide that it no longer wants to use the template that I have chosen for that particular page.
Does anyone have any idea of how I can fix this?
Great product, have really enjoyed it so far. Thanks in advance for your help!
