Thumbs and Heading Customization

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to change 2 things on my blog:

1) thumbnail size

2) headings of blog previews (font size)

I have managed to change te thumbs slightly, by changing them in Settings > Media. I also used the suggested "Image Gallery Reloaded" plugin. However, there seems to be a limit to what I can extent the thumbs to. As an example, I set the thumbnail image size to 300px x 300px, but the thumbs on the website are only 180px x 180px.

Regarding the headings, I had a good look in your forum and downloaded a couple of plugins, but nothing seems to work. Please let me know where I can change the font size of the headings that preview all blog posts on the homepage.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Doreen

Even though you've re-sized the thumbnails the blog page is scaling down a bit, you'll need to use css to cancel this out.

If you're using firebug to inspect the code you'll also see that the blog page does have some restrictions  in regard to the image size, the container is set to scale the image down to 25% of the width. http://screencast.com/t/SsFuFXttFR Turn that off and the image jumps to the full size.

You'll also need to use a little css to change the size of the font used in the headings.

If you've not used css before inside the framework, take a look at http://support.pagelines.me/docs/customization/custom-css/ which will give you an overview of the process and the tools we suggest to use to find the various id's and selectors

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Hi, I'm trying to show thumbnails on aggregate pages like category, archives etc., and hide thumbnails on single post pages. I have searched the Pagelines forum and followed some of the instructions given to other users with no luck. Below are two links, one is to a single post, and the other is an archive list. Right now the thumbnails are turned off in the WP postloop.
Both pages are on separate templates, and I tried setting the single post page to loccal and it still seems to keep the thumbnail option as a global setting.

Hi there, wondering if there is a way to hide or turn off the flipper thumbnails, so all you have are the blog titles (and dates)? I've searched and haven't seen this question asked before. Thanks!

This is driving me CRAZY. I want thumbnails showing on the left on my homepage ONLY.
I want ZERO thumbnails showing on the individual post page.
I have tried and tried to get this to work and it will not. PLEASE HELP ME.
I followed this tutorial here: http://www.pagelinestheme.com/controlling-post-thumbnails/
I've also attached a screen shot of my "current" settings though it's not doing what I think it should mean.

Hi guys, I have been using 'special recent posts' plugin to display recent posts via a category with a thumbnail as well, however it seems the text overlaps the thumbnails in columnizer and widgetizer. Any help would be appreciated...

      Hi Pagelines Team,
I'm adding blog posts to www.leadstoclients.com.au
But would love to place the image between the 'title' and the 'content'.
      I'm seeing these options: http://screencast.com/t/c1GggUigw
But none of them seem to place the image where I hope it can be displayed.
Any tips on how I can get the image to appear here: http://screencast.com/t/F39iUNuq8Nd5 would be awesome.
      Thanks for your help,
