changing colour of 'chosen page text' in navigation bar

Recommended Posts

rud10

Sorry in advance for asking such a basic question. My problem is that I can't change the colour of the text in my nav bar, for the page that I am on. I don't really care about the hover state, I just want that text to change colour so that the user knows that they are on that page.

Is there any sort of plugin that will allow me to do this, or does it have to be done via code?

Hi.

All your menu items are given a unique class, which contains an ID that is unique to that menu item.

For example.

<li id="menu-item-509" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-post menu-item-509"><a href="#">Sample Post</a></li>

In the code above, you can see the following:

menu-item-509

You can then use this class to style your individual menu. I recommend using Firebug or your browsers built-in web dev tools and inspect the NavBar sections menu <li> class for the correct code.
