how do i set different layouts to different pages ?

Recommended Posts

Deborah

i need to set two different layouts to two different pages.

i want the blog page to have specific content width with right sidebar

and a static page ( homepage ) with no sidebars and a different content width .

i am trying to play around with the layout editor, site options, page options and the meta page settings

page templates and my head is spinning around because

the width is being applied for all the pages.

how do i just edit the blog layout without editing the static page

Hi,

You can change the width of the Content area on different layouts. However, the layout which has no sidebars is full width, therefore the content area is full width of your site.

See my images below.

http://d.pr/i/nSJ <== Sidebar Right, Content area width 908px

You can control the layout for your Blog by going to:

PageLines > Page Options > Blog > Page Setup, from there you can set the layout, set a background etc..

For you Homepage, which is a static page you have set in Wordpress Admin Dashboard > Settings > Reading.

You can control the layout like another other normal page by going to :

Wordpress Admin Dashboard > Pages > Select your homepage and then scroll down to the PageLines Meta Settings > Page Setup.

The reason why you have to go to Page Options for your Blog Page, is due to the blog page being a Special Page.
