Hello Deborah

you can find information about using the translation localisation centre here http://www.pagelines.com/translation-localization-center/ if you follow these steps you should be able to achieve RTL translations. Please let us know if you have any issues.

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

If you add a rtl.css to your childtheme, wordpress will automagically use it.

ok, i'll be editing and customizing pagelines using the the Base Theme as a child theme.

Do i have to import rtl.css from the pagelines core files into the base theme style.css :

@import url("..pagelinesrtl.css");

-OR-

Do i just copy the rtl.css from wp-contentthemespagelinesrtl.css to  wp-contentthemespagelines-template-theme

and wordpress would use the rtl.css and not style.css ?

To sum up this:

1-Do i just copy rtl.css and paste it into the basetheme

2-Do i import rtl.css into the basetheme style.css

3- neither of the above :P

little confused here.

Copy the rtl.css file to your child theme like Simon said.

Also, I did read you previous posts, I linked you to the documentation as I assumed you already followed what Simon wrote above but you wasn't sure how to enable RTL.

okay i copied rtl.css to my child theme, but i don't think it's being applied.

what i think is being applied is style.css inside the child theme and not the rtl.css

i think i have to import rtl.css into style.css with the css import rule ?

besides that, do i customize and edit in style.css or rtl.css ?

Once you have added the rtl.css, you can add your customisation to the rtl.css in the base child theme.

Once you have added the rtl.css, you can add your customisation to the rtl.css in the base child theme.

Now we're getting into something!

rtl.css is not applied. and here's why,

For instance this css code should RTL boxes.

Original is :

.pp2, .pp3, .pp4, .pp5, .pp6 {
margin-right: 4%;
float: left;
}

i Added this to the rtl.css without importing anything in style.css just as you suggested :

.pp2, .pp3, .pp4, .pp5, .pp6 {
margin-right: 0;
margin-left: 4%;
float: right;
}

and this hadn't affect anything, the problem isn't with the code as i tested it with chrome element inspect,

our issue here is with what style is being applied!

so copying rtl.css to the Base child theme, and editing only rtl.css

didn't affect visual appearance which means that site is not using rtl.css .

 so changes done in rtl.css doesn't affect the site .

i don't need help with css, i only need to know how to correctly apply rtl.css

so the site start using that file instead of style.css of course all in the base child theme.

Hmm, you're correct.

I'll bring this to the attention of our developers and see what were doing wrong. I haven't ever used RTL in Wordpress, so I am not really sure to be honest.

When I have more information, Ill reply here.

Just an update Deborah, apparently RTL.css child theme detection will be fixed and working correctly, in 2.4.2 update.
