Anything boxes on Author page only shows author posts

I put an anything boxes-section on top of the author page, and want it to show recent posts from a category. But it will only show posts (ie boxes based on posts) from the author, so mostly it doesn't show anything (since the author still has no posts in the category). 

 

Is there any way to fix this? Seems like a bug.

I got a reply from Adam Munns by email. Posting it here if others have the same issue:

 

 

the intended use is to automatically pull in the current authors posts on a author archive.

 

If you want to remove this functionality then I can help you do that…

Basically you'd have to open the section.php file for this section and find this line

 

if(is_author())

$ab_params[
'author' ] = get_query_var('author');

 

Then comment it out.
