Upgrade from pagelines Pro to Framework

I've been running my website on Platform Pro for quite a while. I purchased the Framework quite a while and have the latest version (2.3.8) a while ago for some of my other sites but I have been late to upgrade this one for whatever reason (long story having to do with the hosting company).

Now, after migrating the site to a new host, I want to do it but I'm not sure how. In my WP admin it does not appear to be available as an upgrade. I'm on Wordpress 3.5 and using Pagelines Pro 1.6. The site is logged in with my credentials in the launchpad and have 'auto updates' activated. Do I need to upload Framework it separately? If I do that does it keep the Platform Pro available as an option or does it replace it?

Did that make sense??? Let me know if not and I will try to clarify.

Thanks!

Michele

Hi there, yes you'll need to upload the Framework separately and platform will remain as an inactive theme on your install.

Full details on the full process can be found here - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/getting-started/migrate-from-platform-to-framework/

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Michele,

To supplement what my colleague James has posted, PageLines Framework will be treated as a unique theme by WordPress, so in Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, you'll see both PlatformPro and PageLines Framework once the Framework is installed.   Framework will not replace PlatformPro.

Framework will not appear as an upgrade for PlatformPro. If you've purchased it separately, you may download the zip file from your Launchpad account.  http://www.pagelines.com/launchpad/member.php

Hi, I just upgraded to version DMS 2.1.1 from version 2.0.7...

I'm running a Child Theme that I created step by step using your instruction in Pagelines Docs... according to your own documentation, using a child theme should prevent a lot of the issues that occur when you publish a core update, and yet when I upgrade I need to spend hours and sometimes days redoing a lot of my work.  This is getting very irritating and incredibly frustrating!!!!

After I upgraded this is what's happening:

      - A lot of LESS/CSS is no longer worked. Seems new classes were implemented which meant I had to go in and edit or rewrite a lot of my CSS.

      - A lot of options that are set via the DMS front-end section option panels are changed or erased.  So that means I have to play a scavenger hunt through all my page templates, one by one, and reselect these options...

The biggest frustration is that the font end options for the WP Content/Loop section seem to be gone:

      - I can't choose the location of the thumbnail in blog index loop or single post templates!
      - I can't determine the length of the excerpt
      - I can't choose from magazine or list layout...

All the options available now are:
      - Hide media?
      - Hide author info?
      - Post meta, and
      - Thumbnail size...

What happened to the rest of the options?????????!

Here's a screen pic of what the options panel looked like in v 2.0.7 with all the options that don't seem to be available in version 2.1.1

And here's a screen pic of the new options panel for the WP Content/Loop section in v 2.1.1 which really doesn't allow me to customize much...

So, what's up with this? How do I customize my post loop / singlepost without these options???
